We join you in lifting up your former landlord before the Lord, and we agree with you in prayer based on Luke 9:24, that whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Jesus will save it. Our prayer is that he will choose to lose his life for Christ in surrender and faith, so that his life will truly be saved.

We ask the Lord to make Himself clearly heard to him. Scripture describes the voice of the Lord as powerful and full of majesty, like the sound of many waters and like thunder, a voice that can break mighty cedars, divide flames of fire and shake the wilderness, and yet it is also a voice that can be known personally and closely. Just as a child before birth learns to recognize a mother's voice and is comforted by it, we learn to recognize the voice of God as we hear His Word. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. No one can believe without hearing, and it is through the Word that we come to know God and to trust Him.

So we pray that God will bring His Word to this man in a way he can hear and understand, and that the Holy Spirit will open his heart to respond. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all, and the promise remains that whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Jesus said that whoever comes to Him He will never cast out. This is a great salvation, not only forgiveness of sins but the hope of eternal life and being brought into the family of God through the One who is the author and captain of our salvation.

We also pray that he will hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life. As he hears and follows, we pray he will walk in the purpose God has for him, knowing his times are in God's hands and that God will sustain and guide him as he fulfills that purpose.

Scripture says now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. We pray he will not put off God's offer but will respond while the door is open. May the Lord reign over every place of darkness and let His light expel it, may His mercy and grace be evident, and may this rented apartment situation be settled in peace while God works in this man's heart for eternity.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to draw this former landlord to Yourself, to let him hear Your voice, to grant him repentance and faith, and to save him as he surrenders his life to You. Let him experience Your love, Your faithfulness and Your power, and let all who see Your work give You glory. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, who alone saves. Amen.
