Forgiveness

We hear your heart crying out for forgiveness and we stand with you against the lies of the enemy, seeking God's mercy together in Jesus' name.

The feeling of being worthless does not come from God. The devil is a liar and the father of lies, and Jesus said about him, He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn't stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and the father of it. John 8:44. We rebuke that voice that tells you that you are worthless. Your worth is not determined by your sins or your failures or the accusations of the enemy, but by the price God paid for you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14, and you are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. Ephesians 2:10. Nothing can separate us from God's love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39.

We rejoice that you are turning to the Lord for forgiveness, even for the sins of today. God promises, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. And, As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12. When God forgives you in Christ, there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1.

We noticed your prayer said Lord forgive my sins but did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have forgiveness and access to the Father. Jesus himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and calling on His name, that we are saved and forgiven. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, confessing your sins to Him directly.

We also encourage you to resist the devil when he accuses you. Submit therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7. When those thoughts come, answer them with the truth of Scripture, that you are forgiven, cleansed, and a new creation in Christ. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. Thank You for Your mercy and grace that is new every morning. We ask You to forgive all sins, including those of today, as they have been confessed before You. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus and let them know the joy of Your forgiveness. Silence the lying voice of the enemy that says they are worthless, and speak Your truth over them, that they are loved, valued, redeemed, and Your child through faith in Jesus. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, give them peace, assurance, and strength to walk in Your ways tomorrow and each day. Help them to grow in knowing Jesus more and to rest in Your unfailing love. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this honest prayer with us. We hear how heavy it feels when that accusing voice says you are worthless, even as you are wanting to turn to the Lord for forgiveness today.

We want to offer a steady thought that has helped many believers. There is a difference between true conviction that leads us to confess to God, and the condemning message that says you as a person have no worth. The first draws us back to Christ, the second tries to keep you stuck in shame. Your value before God is not measured by how well you performed today, but by His love for you as His creation and by what Christ has done for you. Feelings of worthlessness can linger even after we have honestly confessed, and that does not mean you are unforgiven.

When that thought comes again, it can help to turn it immediately into a short, honest prayer rather than arguing with it alone. Simply tell God what you did, ask for His forgiveness through Jesus, and ask Him to help you receive it. If you can, share this struggle with a trusted pastor or mature believer this week so you are not carrying it by yourself, and keep gathering with other believers where you can hear that grace spoken again.

Father, we bring our brother before You and thank You that You hear this prayer for forgiveness. We ask You to assure him of Your mercy through Jesus, to quiet the accusing voice, and to help him rest in being Your beloved child. Give him peace today and wisdom for each next step. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Not being disrespectful, Articles sir, but to me, Lord means Jesus, it's the culture I was raised in.

There is forgiveness with God, and that forgiveness is for you even now. Your prayer is heard, for you come as a trembling and penitent heart desiring to be washed, and the Lord has not left it a moot point whether there is pardon. He has declared it plainly, I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake.

Do not heed the voice of the accuser who tells you that you are worthless. The devil is the accuser of the brethren, but Jesus Christ is our Advocate. Your worth before God was never the ground of your forgiveness, for He forgives not on account of the sinner, but for His own sake and for the sake of His dear Son. It is a divine forgiveness, and it is a surprising forgiveness, so free and so complete that God Himself speaks as if to assure doubting hearts that it is true. If you have been the chief of sinners, there is the chief of sinners forgiveness to be had even now.

And what a complete forgiveness it is. It is not a partial payment, but an absolute forgiveness of the whole debt. When you say, I have nothing to pay with, He gives oblivion to all your debt. He not only forgave you at the first, but He continues daily to forgive, for the act of forgiveness is a continuous one, and the forgiveness which He gives for Christ's sake is an eternal forgiveness. The Lord Jesus drowns all the hosts of sin in the depths of the sea and the whole of your guilt is swallowed up forever.

Believe this for yourself. Do as we are taught to do when dark distress comes, and say with the Creed, I believe in the forgiveness of sins, and then believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself. By faith accept the matchless Atonement which covers all your guilt, including the sins of today, and trust that system by which sin is no longer imputed to you. The work of the Spirit is linked with the work of the Son, when the Son removes guilt, the Spirit removes guile, and gives a new nature that confesses sin and humbles itself before God rather than hiding it.

Therefore let this whisper drive away despair. There is forgiveness. There was forgiveness, there is forgiveness now at this moment, and there will be forgiveness as long as life lasts, to be obtained from God through Jesus Christ His Son alone. Where the offense went, from that very place the forgiveness comes, for there is forgiveness with Him.

We will pray for you, that you may know this blessedness today. Lord, look upon this penitent one who feels the weight of sin and the sting of the accuser. For Thine own name's sake, blot out transgressions, cover guilt with the blood of Christ, and speak that blessed sentence, Thy sins are forgiven thee. Let this soul receive by faith the full, eternal and complete pardon that is in Jesus, and find peace in Him. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer is heard, and your honesty before the Lord is precious. The voice telling you that you are worthless is not the voice of your Father. Scripture calls the devil the accuser, and his work is to bring false accusation against you, to make you hide in shame and forget the mercy of God.

God does not agree with that accusation. He shows your worth by what He has done for you. While you were still a sinner, Christ died for you, and if you are in Him you are not worthless but bought with His blood, made in His image, and called His child. Your value is not measured by your feelings or your failures, but by His love on the cross.

You are right to bring your sins before Him, including the sins of today. God desires that we remember our sins not to crush us, but so that we will confess them openly and receive His forgiveness. When we try to forget or hide them, we treat them lightly. When we bring them into the light and say, Lord forgive me, He is faithful and just to forgive us through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name by which we are saved, and no other sacrifice needed.

So do not listen to the accuser who says you are beyond forgiveness. Listen to the promise of God. If we confess our sins, He cleanses us. Bring each sin to Him by name, turn from it, and trust that the blood of Christ is enough. Then walk away from that place of accusation and rest in what He has declared over you, that you are forgiven, loved, and His.

I pray for you now. Father, forgive this dear one for every sin, known and unknown, committed today and in days past. Wash them clean through the blood of Jesus. Silence the false accusations of the enemy, and let Your Spirit assure their heart that they are Yours. Lift the weight of shame, renew their conscience in Your grace, and teach them to walk in repentance and in the joy of being forgiven. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

When those thoughts return, answer them with truth. Say, I have sinned, and I have a Savior, and His mercy is greater than my sin. Keep drawing near to Him in prayer and in His Word, and He will draw near to you.
