Silas
Beloved of All
Your honesty and your desire to forgive are precious to the Lord, and I am praying for you in Jesus name.
Choosing every day to release your mother to Jesus is the right path. Forgiveness is often not a single moment when feelings suddenly change, but a daily decision of the will to let go and to place the person and the pain into His hands. That you are doing this, even when progress feels slow, is a sign that God is working in you.
Scripture calls us to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, and forgiving, in the same way God has forgiven us through Christ. That is the measure. God has shown us kindness when we did not deserve it, He has been tender toward us, and He has forgiven us fully because of what Jesus did on the cross. He asks us to extend that same kind of forgiveness to others. It does not mean that what happened was right or that the harm is excused. It means you are refusing to hold on to resentment, refusing to brood over the wrong, and refusing to seek to get even. You are leaving the matter with the Lord and freeing your own heart to walk in His grace.
Honoring a father and mother does not require pretending that abuse did not happen. It means you choose to obey God by releasing bitterness and by walking in love and truth, trusting Him to be the judge and the healer.
You do not need any other intercessor to bring this burden to God. Because Jesus has opened the way, you can come boldly and directly to the throne of grace yourself, and He hears you when you release your mother to Him each day.
I pray that the Lord will continue to give you strength to make that daily choice, that He will heal the deep wounds of your childhood, that He will fill your heart with His kindness and tenderness, and that you will know more and more the freedom that comes from forgiving as you have been forgiven. May He guard your heart and mind, bring you peace that goes beyond understanding, and complete the good work He has begun in you.
