Forgiveness.

My name is ###,Dear ###, I ask you to find my sin that led me to the situation I am experiencing, and I ask you to forgive God for this sin of mine.

We hear your cry for forgiveness, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, seeking the Lord’s mercy together. First, let us clarify an important truth: we do not forgive God, for God is holy, just, and perfect in all His ways. He does not sin, nor does He need our forgiveness. Instead, we come to Him in repentance, acknowledging our own sins and asking for His forgiveness, which He freely gives through the blood of Jesus Christ. As it is written in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Let us pray with you now, seeking the Lord’s wisdom to reveal any unconfessed sin in your life and asking for His cleansing and restoration.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up to You, asking that Your Holy Spirit would search their heart and reveal any sin that has separated them from Your presence. Lord, Your Word says in Psalm 139:23-24, "Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way." We ask that You would do this for , that they may see clearly where they have strayed and turn back to You with a repentant heart.

Father, we know that sin brings consequences, but we also know that You are a God of mercy and grace. Your Word declares in Lamentations 3:22-23, "It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your forgiveness upon as they confess their sins to You. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus, and restore them to fellowship with You.

If there is any sin of bitterness, unforgiveness, pride, or rebellion in ’s heart, we ask that You would break its power and set them free. If they have walked in disobedience to Your commands, whether in thought, word, or deed, we pray that You would grant them the grace to turn away from it and walk in Your ways. Your Word tells us in James 4:8, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." Lord, we pray that would draw near to You with a sincere and humble heart, trusting in Your promise to forgive and restore.

We also rebuke any spirit of guilt or shame that may be weighing down. The enemy would love to keep them in bondage to their past mistakes, but we declare that in Christ, they are a new creation. As 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." Lord, we pray that would walk in the freedom and victory that You have already won for them on the cross.

If has not yet placed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Your Word says in Romans 10:9, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved, and we pray that would surrender their life to Jesus, trusting in His finished work on the cross for their redemption.

Lord, we ask that You would fill with Your peace and joy as they walk in the light of Your forgiveness. May they experience the fullness of Your love and the assurance of Your presence in their life. Help them to live in a way that honors You, bearing fruit that reflects their repentance and faith.

In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you, dear brother or sister, to spend time in God’s Word and in prayer, allowing the Holy Spirit to continue revealing His truth to you. If there is a specific sin that comes to mind, confess it to the Lord without delay, trusting in His promise to forgive. Remember, God’s grace is greater than all our sin, and His love for you is unchanging.

If you have not yet made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, we urge you to do so today. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Surrender your heart to Him, and He will give you a new life filled with hope and purpose.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you as you walk in His forgiveness and grace.

We hear so much of yourself in this brief, direct request: the courage to look inward, the humility to name your own part, and the earnest desire to be clean. That is a tender place to be, and we sit with you in it. This kind of asking already shows a heart that wants God more than it wants to hide, and that is no small gift.

When we get stuck wondering which specific sin led to our trouble, the search can become exhausting and foggy. But true confession isn't about perfect detective work; it's about turning toward God with whatever we can see right now. You may not be able to trace every cause-and-effect, but you can trust that the Holy Spirit knows, and that the same Spirit will gently show you what you genuinely need to understand. Sometimes clarity comes all at once; more often it dawns gradually as we stay close.

A practical help: try setting aside a quiet half hour simply to ask, "Lord, show me what broke our fellowship." Pay attention to what surfaces, a moment you excused, a relationship you mishandled, a bitterness you nursed, a selfish choice you rationalized. Then, when something comes to mind, don't argue with it or spiral into shame. Just bring it straight to Jesus, name it plainly, and receive the forgiveness already secured for you. You don't have to generate enough sorrow to earn it; it is yours.

Father, thank you for , and for the honest, searching heart that brought them to this moment. Shine your light gently into the places they cannot see clearly, and give them the courage to face what you reveal without fear or self-condemnation. Assure them of your complete forgiveness, wash away every stain, and set their feet on steady ground again. In Jesus' name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have written words that betray a deep confusion: you ask me to forgive God for your sin. Far be it from any mortal to think of forgiving the Most High; it is He who offers pardon to you. The very thought stands the universe on its head. You do not seek to forgive God; rather, you must fall before Him and cry out that He would forgive you. His arm is not shortened that it cannot save, nor His ear heavy that it cannot hear; your iniquities have separated you from your God, and your sin has hidden His face from you. The only discharge possible is pardon by God; but then it is the only pardon necessary. I cannot help noticing the completeness of this forgiveness.

Do you imagine your sin to be small? You say it led you to the situation you now experience, but the root of it goes deeper still. Sin, in its very nature, is an offense against infinite holiness. When I think of the nature of this pardon, putting away all sin in a moment, and all the consequences of sin, I feel as if I wish we had a choir of angels here, that they might sing, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.” Yet He says, even He, “There is forgiveness.” There must be forgiveness! I cannot see a bleeding Savior without understanding that there must be pardon! Gethsemane, Gabbatha, Golgotha, three sacred words, three irresistible arguments by which it is proved beyond controversy that there is forgiveness even for the chief of sinners!

But what is this pardon? It is divine pardon, the only forgiveness possible; for no one can remit sin but God only. Justice says, “Blood for blood, a stroke for every sin, punishment for every crime, for the Lord will by no means clear the guilty.” Yet the text teaches that the forgiveness of sin is according to the riches of God’s grace. In order to get rid of sin, the infinite wealth of His great heart of love must be freely spent. God, who delights in mercy, laid out a mint of grace before sin could be pardoned! There could never have been any forgiveness for sin if there had not been all these pangs on the part of the sinner’s Substitute. Surely, sin must be a great thing to need such a great sacrifice to put it away.

And mark this: repentance is not an atonement for sin! There is no atonement in tears or repentance. What is there in your penitence that can make you deserve forgiveness? If you did deserve forgiveness, you would have a set-off against your guilt. But blessed be God, the pardon does not rest with our knowledge of the sin, but with God’s knowledge of the sin. He knows the full extent, and therefore His pardon is complete. “He will abundantly pardon.” Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him turn unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

Do you leap for joy at the very thought that God has set forth Christ to be a propitiation for sin? This is repentance after a godly sort. Repentance makes a rainbow with her tears of grief for sin and her glances of hope at the love of Christ and His great finished work. Repentance stands at the cross and sees sin forgiven, and then repents more than she ever did when she could not spy out forgiveness. A sense of blood-bought pardon soon dissolves a heart of stone. Christ dissolves our hearts with love. Do not wait until you get home; seek His face now. God grants pardon when men are humbled. Let us not leave this thought until we have received this great redemption, this great forgiveness for great sin!
