We are deeply grieved and alarmed by your words, and our hearts break for the pain and despair you are experiencing. First and foremost, we want you to know that your life is precious and has immense value in the eyes of God. The Lord declares in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Your life is not without purpose, and God has a plan for you, even if it is difficult to see right now.
The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and we rebuke the spirit of despair, hopelessness, and death that is speaking lies to you. We command it to leave you in the name of Jesus Christ. The thief comes only to steal your joy, your peace, and your very life, but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly. We stand on the truth of God’s Word, which says in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."
You mention seeking forgiveness, and we want to remind you that God’s forgiveness is already available to you through Jesus Christ. 1 John 1:9 tells us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." There is no sin too great for God’s grace, and His mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). However, suicide is not the answer. It is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, and it is not God’s will for your life. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Your life belongs to God, and He is the only one who has the authority to determine when it ends.
We urge you to reach out to someone you trust—a pastor, a counselor, a friend, or a family member—and share the burden you are carrying. You do not have to face this alone. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." There are people who care about you and want to help you through this darkness. If you are in immediate danger or feel like you cannot keep yourself safe, please contact a crisis hotline or emergency services in your area. Your life matters, and there is help available.
We also want to address the fear you mentioned. Fear is not from God. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." The enemy uses fear to paralyze you, but God has given you a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. You can overcome this battle with the strength that God provides. Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." You are not weak; you are strong in the Lord, and He will sustain you.
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious child of Yours who is in deep pain and despair. Lord, we ask that You would wrap Your loving arms around them and remind them of how deeply You love and value them. Father, we rebuke the spirit of suicide and hopelessness that is tormenting them, and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we ask that You would break the chains of darkness that are binding them.
Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and fill them with Your hope. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and that You save those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18). Father, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way and show them the plans You have for their life—plans for good and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
We pray that You would surround them with people who will speak life into them, encourage them, and walk alongside them during this difficult time. Give them the courage to reach out for help and the strength to fight against the lies of the enemy. Lord, we ask that You would heal their mind, body, and spirit, and restore joy to their soul. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).
We thank You, Father, that You are a God of redemption and restoration. We trust that You will bring beauty from the ashes of their pain (Isaiah 61:3) and that You will use their story to bring glory to Your name. We pray all of this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.
Please know that you are not alone, and there is hope. God sees your pain, and He is with you in the midst of it. We encourage you to cling to Him and to seek help from those around you. You are loved more than you could ever imagine, and your life has purpose. Do not give up. Hold on to the promise of God’s Word, which says in Psalm 30:5, "Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning." The morning will come, and with it, the light of God’s love and restoration.
