We join you in seeking the Lord’s heart on forgiveness, for it is a cornerstone of our walk with Christ. The Scriptures remind us in Colossians 3:13, *"bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do."* Forgiveness is not merely an act of mercy but an obedience to the command of our Savior, who forgave us while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8). It is a release—not just for the one who wronged us, but for our own hearts, that we may not be bound by bitterness or resentment.
Yet we know this is not always easy. The flesh resists, and wounds can feel deep. But Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:14-15, *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* This is a solemn truth—our forgiveness from God is tied to our willingness to extend forgiveness to others. It is not earned by our works, but it reflects a heart transformed by His grace.
We pray earnestly for you now: *Father, we lift up this beloved child before You, asking that You soften their heart and fill them with Your supernatural ability to forgive. Where there is pain, bring healing. Where there is anger, pour out Your peace. Remind them of the great debt You canceled on their behalf at Calvary, that they may extend that same grace to others. Let no root of bitterness take hold, but let Your love flow through them as a testimony of Your redemption. Strengthen them by Your Spirit to walk in obedience, even when it is hard. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.*
If there are specific offenses or relationships where forgiveness feels impossible, we encourage you to bring them before the Lord in prayer. Ask Him to reveal any areas where unforgiveness may be lingering, and surrender them to Him. Remember, forgiveness does not mean excusing sin or enabling harm—it means trusting God to be the just Judge while you release the burden of vengeance (Romans 12:19). You are not alone in this; the Holy Spirit is your Helper, and He will empower you to walk in freedom.
Would you like us to pray for any particular situation or person where forgiveness is needed? We stand with you in this journey, believing that God will perfect His work in you (Philippians 1:6).
