i'm really struggling with lust from a years long porn addiction that started when i was nine years old, and i feel so distant and like i can't repent for it. please pray for ###

We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting up your burden of sin and addiction. First, we want to remind you that there is no sin too great for the blood of Jesus Christ to cover. The enemy would have you believe that your struggle is beyond redemption, but Scripture declares, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). Your feelings of distance from God are a lie from the devil—God has not moved; He is waiting with open arms for you to turn to Him in true repentance.

Your battle with lust and pornography is not just a personal failing; it is a spiritual attack on your purity, your identity in Christ, and your calling as a child of God. The enemy has exploited your childhood innocence, but we rebuke that spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus. *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). You are not powerless—Christ in you is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

We must address the seriousness of this sin. Lust and pornography defile the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and distort God’s design for sexuality, which is reserved for the sacred covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Jesus warned, *"Everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart"* (Matthew 5:28). This is not to condemn you but to call you to holy warfare. You must take drastic measures to cut off this sin at its source—whether that means accountability software, fleeing from triggers, or seeking godly counsel. *"If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna"* (Matthew 5:29).

But repentance is not just about stopping the sin; it is about turning to God with your whole heart. You mentioned feeling unable to repent—this is the enemy’s deception. True repentance begins with godly sorrow (2 Corinthians 7:10) and a broken spirit (Psalm 51:17). Cry out to the Lord like David did: *"Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me"* (Psalm 51:10). You cannot do this in your own strength, but the Holy Spirit is your Helper (John 14:26). Surrender every part of your mind, body, and soul to Him.

We also want to address the absence of Jesus’ name in your request. There is no forgiveness, no deliverance, and no victory apart from Him. *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12). If you have never truly surrendered your life to Christ, now is the time. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you *will* be saved (Romans 10:9). If you are already a believer, renew your commitment to Him today. The blood of Jesus is your only hope for cleansing.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother who is bound by the chains of lust and pornography. Lord, we thank You that Your mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23) and that Your grace is sufficient to break every stronghold (2 Corinthians 12:9). We declare that [this brother] is not defined by his past or his struggles but by the blood of Jesus, which washes away all sin (Revelation 1:5).

Father, we ask You to break the power of this addiction in his life. Send Your Holy Spirit to convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). Give him a hatred for this sin and a love for purity. Surround him with godly men who will hold him accountable and pray for him. Strengthen him to flee from temptation and to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of shame and condemnation that tells him he is too far gone. Your Word says that if we confess our sins, You are faithful to forgive us (1 John 1:9). We claim that promise over him now. Cleanse him from all unrighteousness and restore to him the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12). Renew his mind with Your truth and fill him with Your peace.

We pray for healing in his heart and mind, especially for the wounds from his childhood. Comfort him with Your love and remind him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Help him to see himself as You see him—a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Father, we ask You to draw him close to You. Let him experience Your presence in a tangible way. Speak to him through Your Word and give him a hunger for righteousness. May he find his identity, worth, and satisfaction in You alone.

We declare freedom over him in the mighty name of Jesus. Every chain is broken, every lie is exposed, and every stronghold is demolished. We thank You, Lord, that victory is already won through the cross. May he walk in that victory every day, leaning on Your strength and not his own.

We pray all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. Amen.

Brother, do not lose heart. The road to freedom is not easy, but it is worth it. Every time you fall, get back up and run to Jesus. He is not shocked by your struggle; He is waiting to embrace you. Find a trusted pastor, counselor, or accountability partner to walk with you. Fill your mind with Scripture—meditate on Psalm 51, Romans 6, and 1 Corinthians 6:9-20. Replace the lies of the enemy with God’s truth. You are not alone in this battle, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Take one day at a time, and remember: *"Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"* (Philippians 1:6). Your story is not over—God is writing a testimony of redemption through you. Keep fighting the good fight of faith.

We're right here with you, brother. We know the struggle is real, and the enemy wants you to believe you're alone, but we're standing firm in faith with you. We've been where you are, and we know the power of Jesus' love and forgiveness.

First, remember that God sees you, He knows your heart, and He's waiting with open arms. You're not defined by your past or your struggles, but by the blood of Jesus that cleanses you completely (1 John 1:7). You might feel distant, but God is right there, ready to embrace you.

We want to encourage you to keep fighting. It's not easy, and it's a daily battle, but it's worth it. Every time you fall, pick yourself up, and run to Jesus. He's not shocked by your struggle; He's waiting to embrace you. Find someone you trust to walk with you - a pastor, counselor, or accountability partner. Replace the lies of the enemy with God's truth. You're not alone, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Take it one day at a time, and remember, "He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6). Your story is not over; God is writing a testimony of redemption through you.

Keep fighting the good fight of faith, brother. We're praying for you, and we believe in you. You've got this, in Jesus' name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want you to know how deeply we’ve been praying for you over these past days. Your honesty about the weight of this struggle—especially the long battle with lust and the chains of addiction that began so early in your life—has moved our hearts. We’ve asked our Heavenly Father to meet you in that place of shame and distance, to lift the burden of condemnation, and to flood your heart with His mercy and grace. We’ve prayed that He would break every stronghold, restore your intimacy with Him, and give you the strength to turn away from what has held you captive for so long.

If you’ve experienced even a small measure of His peace, freedom, or renewed hope in these days, we would love to hear about it—your praise report could be an encouragement to others walking a similar path. But if the struggle still feels overwhelming, or if the distance from God seems just as vast, please don’t hesitate to share that with us again. We’re not here to judge, only to stand with you in prayer, to remind you of Christ’s power to forgive and restore, and to keep lifting you up until you feel His presence drawing near.

We continue to pray that the Lord would soften your heart, renew your mind, and help you see yourself as He does—fully forgiven, deeply loved, and capable of walking in victory through His strength. May He give you the courage to keep seeking Him, the wisdom to guard your heart, and the assurance that no sin is too great for His grace. We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
