Forgiveness for lust, anger, smoking and getting angry to God

Lord my God, Please forgive me for all my sins. Since March started, I experienced one of the worst feelings, like getting drowned in debt, not hitting my quota in my career, getting scammed, getting rejected, and I'm no longer happy in my life for the past few years. Because of these experiences, I smoked and did lustful things such as watching pornography, reading malicious content, and masturbating. Not to mention smoking. Just to feel a bit of "happiness." Lord, I realize that I took the wrong way; instead of getting closer to you, I ran away from you by committing these lewd acts. Lord, I know my sins have consequences, but please Lord, I don't want to experience the consequences as I'm experiencing tons of problems. I know you are slow to anger Lord, so please forgive me for my acts, and if I confess my sins, you will wash them all with your endless mercy. Please guide me to the right path and forgive and wash me from all my wicked ways. In the name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

We hear your cry for forgiveness and restoration, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your burdens to the Lord. Your honesty about the struggles you face—lust, anger, smoking, and the weight of life’s disappointments—shows a heart that longs to be cleansed and renewed. We want to remind you that God’s mercy is greater than any sin, and His grace is sufficient to lift you out of despair. The Word of God assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). You have already taken the first step by confessing your struggles, and that is where healing begins.

The sins you mentioned—lust, pornography, masturbation, and smoking—are not just personal failures but offenses against God’s holy design for your life. Lust and sexual immorality distort the beauty of intimacy that God intended for marriage between a man and a woman. The apostle Paul warns us, *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Smoking, while not explicitly mentioned in Scripture, harms the temple of the Holy Spirit—the body God has entrusted to you—and can become a form of bondage that dims the light of Christ in your life. We must also address the anger you mentioned, for it can lead to bitterness and further separation from God’s peace. *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you"* (Ephesians 4:31-32).

Your pain—financial struggles, career setbacks, betrayal, and rejection—are real, and we do not minimize them. But we must rebuke the lie that temporary pleasures like smoking, lust, or anger can bring true happiness. These things only deepen the emptiness and pull you further from the joy that comes from walking in God’s will. Jesus said, *"The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly"* (John 10:10). The enemy wants you to believe that God has abandoned you, but the truth is that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You mentioned running away from God, but He has never stopped pursuing you. His love is not based on your performance but on the finished work of Christ on the cross.

We must also address the foundation of your prayer. You called upon "Lord my God," but it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself declared, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). There is no forgiveness or salvation apart from Him. If you have never surrendered your life to Jesus, now is the time to do so. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). If you are already a believer, we encourage you to renew your commitment to Him today. Repentance is not just feeling sorry for your sins but turning away from them and walking in obedience to God’s Word.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts on behalf of our brother who has cried out for Your mercy. Lord, we thank You for Your unfailing love and the promise that if we confess our sins, You are faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We ask that You would break the chains of lust, pornography, and masturbation in his life. Cleanse his mind and heart, Lord, and fill him with a holy desire for purity. Help him to flee from temptation and to guard his eyes, his thoughts, and his actions. We rebuke the spirit of addiction to smoking and ask that You would set him free from this bondage. Strengthen his body as a temple of the Holy Spirit and help him to honor You in all that he does.

Father, we also lift up his struggles with anger and bitterness. Soften his heart and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Heal the wounds of rejection, financial hardship, and betrayal, and remind him that his identity is found in Christ alone. Lord, we ask that You would restore his joy and give him a fresh vision for his life and career. Guide him into the path of righteousness and surround him with godly mentors and friends who will encourage him in his walk with You.

We pray for a renewed passion for Your Word and for prayer. Help him to draw near to You, knowing that You will draw near to him (James 4:8). Lord, we ask that You would fill him with the Holy Spirit, empowering him to live a life that glorifies You. May he experience the abundant life that Jesus promised and walk in the freedom that comes from knowing You.

We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We speak restoration over his finances, his career, and his relationships. May he see Your hand at work in every area of his life, and may he trust in You alone for his provision and happiness.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to take practical steps to walk in freedom. First, remove any access to pornography or lustful content from your life—install accountability software, delete apps, and avoid environments that tempt you. Second, seek out a trusted Christian brother or mentor who can pray with you and hold you accountable. James 5:16 tells us, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."* Third, replace the time you spent in sin with godly habits—read the Bible daily, pray without ceasing, and serve others in love. Finally, if smoking has a hold on you, consider seeking help through prayer, biblical counseling, or a support group. God is faithful, and He will provide a way out of temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Remember, God is not angry with you. He loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), and He is ready to restore you completely. Do not let shame or guilt keep you from running to Him. The psalmist wrote, *"The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness. He will not always accuse; neither will he stay angry forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor repaid us for our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his loving kindness toward those who fear him"* (Psalm 103:8-11). Trust in His mercy, and walk in the freedom He has already won for you.

Dear friend, we hear your heart's cry for forgiveness and a fresh start. We're here with you, standing in agreement for your healing and restoration. We want to encourage you with these words:

"Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up." (James 4:8-10)

We believe that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He sees your struggles, your pain, and your longing for change. He is not angry with you; instead, He loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3).

Let's focus on a few things together:

1. **Forgiveness and Restoration**: God's mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). He is ready to forgive and restore you completely. Confess your sins to Him, and believe that He is faithful to forgive and cleanse you (1 John 1:9).

2. **Freedom from Sin**: We know that the enemy wants to keep you bound in sin, but Jesus came to set you free (John 8:36). With God's help, you can overcome lust, anger, and smoking. Remember, He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).

3. **Practical Steps**: To help you in your journey, consider these steps:
- **Accountability**: Share your struggles with a trusted Christian brother or sister. They can pray with you, encourage you, and help keep you accountable (James 5:16).
- **Replace Sin with Good**: Fill your time with positive activities, like reading the Bible, praying, and serving others (Ephesians 5:15-16).
- **Seek Help**: If smoking is a struggle, consider seeking help through prayer, biblical counseling, or a support group.

We're praying for you, dear friend. We declare that no weapon formed against you will prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, God will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Trust in His mercy, and walk in the freedom He has already won for you.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
