God’s grace sees your worst sin and still chooses to heal and restore you completely.
God’s grace transforms even the worst sinner into a beloved brother, calling us to forgive and restore.
Society thrives when all classes recognize their mutual dependence and act with fairness toward one another.
We join with you in bringing this confession before the Lord and we thank you for your honesty, for to confess our sin is the first step toward freedom and healing. The Word says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We also take comfort that as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us Psalm 103:12.
We must also speak the truth in love about what you have confessed, because pornography is not a small struggle but sin that grieves the Holy Spirit and defiles what God made holy. Jesus said that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28. Scripture commands us to Flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 and reminds us that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in us, whom we have from God, and we are not our own, for we were bought with a price, therefore glorify God in our body and in our spirit, which are God’s 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. God designed sexual intimacy as a holy gift to be enjoyed only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, and He says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. Pornography counterfeits that design, trains the heart in lust and selfishness, and brings bondage, shame and spiritual wounding. We rebuke this sin and the spirit of lust behind it, and we urge you to turn from it completely, to make no provision for the flesh, and to cut off every source and access point that leads you back, for if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and cast it from you Matthew 5:29.
We notice you cried out to Lord and we rejoice that you are seeking Him, yet we want to encourage you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have forgiveness and access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9-10. It is by the blood of Jesus shed on the cross that your sin of pornography and every other sin can be washed away and you can be made a new creation, for if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17.
We also pray for your healing and restoration, for God not only forgives but restores. We claim the promise Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me Psalm 51:10 and Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit Psalm 51:12. The Lord promises I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten Joel 2:25. Healing will come as you walk in repentance, which means not only confessing but forsaking, for He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy Proverbs 28:13. We encourage you to renew your mind daily, for Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2 and to fix your thoughts on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely Philippians 4:8. We encourage you to bring this struggle into the light with a mature Christian brother for accountability, to confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed James 5:16, to fast and pray, to fill your time with the Word and with worship, and to flee temptation the moment it appears rather than entertaining it.

Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who has humbly confessed the sin of pornography. Lord, we ask You to forgive and cleanse through the blood of Jesus, to wash away all guilt and shame and to create a clean heart within. We ask You to heal the mind and the heart from the images and the addiction, to break every chain and stronghold, to restore innocence and purity and joy. Fill this longing heart with Your Holy Spirit, with a hatred for sin and a hunger for righteousness. Give strength to flee temptation, wisdom to cut off every evil access, and grace to walk in purity day by day. Restore what the enemy has stolen, restore fellowship with You, restore hope and wholeness, and let this life glorify You in body and spirit as a living temple. Uphold with a willing spirit and lead into godly community and accountability. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, for Your glory. Amen.

We hear the honesty in your brief prayer and we are grateful you brought it to the Lord so directly. Asking for forgiveness and for healing and restoration is a good and right desire, and we join you in that.
It makes sense this feels heavy. When porn has become a pattern, many people experience a cycle of wanting to stop, feeling shame, and then feeling stuck or isolated. Shame often tells us to hide, but healing usually grows as we keep walking in the light with God and with safe, trusted people.
You don't have to figure everything out at once. One steady next step that often helps is to bring one mature, trustworthy person into the struggle with you, like a pastor or a Christian counselor who can walk with you over time, and to put a simple practical guardrail in place such as filtering on your devices and having a clear plan for what you will do when temptation comes.

We ask You to forgive and cleanse, to bring healing where there has been hurt, and to restore strength day by day. Give our brother wisdom, courage to stay in community, and grace for each next step. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. There is forgiveness with God, and that whisper should drive away despair from your soul. However sinful your life may have been up until now, there is forgiveness with Him, and it is to be found in Jesus Christ His Son.
You have come as that poor man who lay before Jesus, hoping and expecting both forgiveness and healing, and you do well to lie in His presence. You tremble and shake for fear, and with a penitent heart you desire forgiveness, and the Lord meets just such a soul. Do as Martin Luther did when a brother monk said to him, Do you not say, I believe in the forgiveness of sins? Now believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself.
Know what this forgiveness is. It is a divine forgiveness, for He says, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. If man should hiss at you and never forgive, it would not bar you from heaven if God has forgiven you. It is a surprising forgiveness, so surprising that God repeats, I, even I, as if amazed that such sin should be remitted, yet He does remit it. It is a complete forgiveness. Suppose you say to your creditor, I have nothing to pay with, He destroys the tally and nails the record of your debt to the Cross. Where God draws no limit, do not you draw any. There is forgiveness, not for this sin or for that only, but forgiveness in all its glorious fullness, without abridging or qualifying words. And it is an eternal forgiveness, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. He never plays fast and loose with men. He not only forgave at the first all your sins, but He continues daily to forgive, for the act of forgiveness is continuous in Christ.
And with this forgiveness there comes healing, for healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction. The people that dwell with the Lord shall be forgiven their iniquity, and the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick. When Jesus healed the man sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee. Pardon and healing were one. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaf also shall not wither, and those leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings.
Seek then perfect restoration. Hear this sweet text which I would ring again and again in every ear, They shall be as though I had not cast them aside. That is how fully God restores the penitent. Turn from that which defiles, flee from it, look to Christ alone for salvation, and trust Him now. There is forgiveness now, at this moment, for you. Believe it, receive it, and walk in newness of life, praying daily for the healing leaves to be applied to your soul, that you may be kept pure and made whole by His grace.
