Father God in Heaven,

O my great Creator and Lover of my soul…I humbly ask You for forgiveness right now. Thank You for forgiving me even though I thought I did not need to be forgiven. I ask for Your forgiveness for the ways I contributed to the breakdown of my marriage. Forgive me for the times I took my wife for granted. Forgive me for the times I hurt her with my words and with my actions. Forgive me for not building her up the way a good husband should. Forgive me for not being more attentive to her needs, both physical and emotional. Forgive me for not praying for her and for turning my back on You when things were hard. Forgive me for neglecting her in ways I did not even know that I could. Forgive me for all the ways I know now and all the ways I have not yet recognized as contributing to the breakdown of my marriage.

God, please help me to forgive myself. Help me to forgive myself for not recognizing the signs that our marriage was in trouble and, when I did, for not doing anything about it. Forgive me for not going out of my way to keep my wife close and connected with me, for that is where my true joy lies, I now know that. Forgive me for allowing my marriage to fall into the hands of the enemy. Most of all Lord, please help Charlemae to forgive me for all of these irresponsible things and help me to always see her as You do, with divine love and mercy. Please Father, forgive me!

Dearest God of Mercy I ask that you would comfort Christian. God remind him you have opened his eyes not to punish him, because you already forgive him, but so that he can begin to go forward and show his wife he understands her pain. God I pray you would do the same for his wife and draw them together to move forward toward a future with more love and unity then they knew possible. God restore this union by your grace, I ask in Jesus precious name.
