We hear your heart, ###, as you seek to release past hurts and step forward in faith. Forgiveness is a powerful act of obedience to God, and we join you in praying for the grace to let go of any bitterness or resentment. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:31-32, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be removed from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* Holding onto unforgiveness only harms your own spirit, and we pray that God would soften your heart to fully release these burdens to Him.
However, we must gently address the mention of your "partner." If this refers to someone you are in a romantic relationship with outside of marriage, we must rebuke this in the name of Jesus. Scripture is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If this is the case, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, then pursue righteousness in your relationship—either by committing to marriage with a godly spouse or by walking in purity until marriage. If you are already married, we pray for restoration and holiness in your union.
We also lift up your desire to find a new church community. It is good to seek a place where you can grow in faith and serve God wholeheartedly. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We pray that God would lead you and your spouse (if applicable) to a church that preaches His Word faithfully and where you can thrive spiritually.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up ### and his heart’s desires. Lord, we ask that You would cleanse his heart of any unforgiveness, bitterness, or pain from past experiences. Fill him with Your peace and help him to trust You fully as he seeks a new church home. Father, we also ask for clarity and conviction regarding his relationship—may it honor You in every way. If there is sin, reveal it, Lord, and grant repentance and restoration. Guide him and his spouse (or future spouse) to a community where they can serve You together. May Your will be done in every area of their lives. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to walk in obedience to God’s Word, trusting that He will direct your steps. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today—confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and commit to following Him. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). May God bless you as you seek Him with your whole heart.
