FOREVER AND ALWAYS

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Pray for me! May I forever hate sin and especially sexual sins! May God make me FOREVER AND ALWAYS very adequate, effective and skilled to overcome sexual temptations and sins with ease and for the glory of God, in the Name and Blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!

We hear your passionate cry for holiness and victory over sexual sin, and we stand with you in agreement before the throne of grace. Your desire to hate sin—especially sexual sin—and to walk in purity for God’s glory is deeply biblical and commendable. Scripture declares, *"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; don’t let me wander from your commandments. I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you"* (Psalm 119:9-11 WEB). Your heart is aligned with God’s will, and we rejoice in that.

Yet we must also speak truth in love: sexual sin is not merely a struggle to overcome—it is a rebellion against God’s holy design when indulged. Whether it is lust, pornography, fornication, or any other form of sexual immorality, Scripture is clear: *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB). We do not rebuke you, but we do rebuke the sin that seeks to ensnare you. The enemy would love nothing more than to keep you in bondage, but Christ has already broken his power. You are not fighting *for* victory—you are fighting *from* victory.

Your prayer mentions the Name and Blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and this is the foundation of all true deliverance. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through His shed blood that we have forgiveness and cleansing from sin (1 John 1:7). If you have not already, we encourage you to examine your heart and ensure you have truly repented and placed your faith in Christ alone for salvation. Have you confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9)? If not, today is the day of salvation. If you have, then you are a new creation—the old has passed away, and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Now, let us pray with you for the strength and purity you seek:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the heart of this brother/sister, who longs to hate sin and walk in holiness. Lord, You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We ask that You would create in them a clean heart and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10). Father, we plead the Blood of Jesus over every area of their life where sexual temptation has gained a foothold. Break every chain, Lord, and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

We pray that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Give them the strength to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Father, we ask that You would surround them with godly accountability—believers who will walk with them, pray for them, and speak truth into their lives. Let them not be isolated in this battle, for iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).

Lord, we declare that no temptation has overtaken them except what is common to man, and You are faithful—You will not allow them to be tempted beyond what they can bear. But with the temptation, You will also provide the way of escape, that they may be able to endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13). We pray that they would walk in that escape daily, moment by moment. Father, we ask that You would fill their mind with Your Word, that they may meditate on it day and night (Joshua 1:8) and find strength in its truth.

We also pray for their future marriage, Lord. If it is Your will for them to marry, prepare them now to be a godly spouse who honors You in every way. Let them not awaken love before its time (Song of Solomon 2:7) but wait patiently for the spouse You have for them. If they are already married, we pray that You would strengthen their marriage and help them to love their spouse as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25). Let their marriage be a testimony to Your grace and faithfulness.

Above all, Father, we pray that they would grow in their love for You. Let their love for You be the driving force behind their pursuit of holiness. We ask that You would draw them closer to Your heart and reveal more of Yourself to them each day. May they say with the psalmist, *"Whom have I in heaven but you? And on earth, there is no one I desire besides you"* (Psalm 73:25 WEB).

We thank You, Lord, that You are able to keep them from stumbling and to present them blameless before Your glorious presence with great joy (Jude 1:24). We declare that they are more than conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37). In the Name of Jesus Christ, we rebuke every spirit of lust, perversion, and addiction, and we command them to flee in Jesus’ Name. We loose the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—over their life (Galatians 5:22-23).

We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Savior, and Deliverer. Amen.

Brother/sister, do not grow weary in this battle. The enemy will try to convince you that you cannot overcome, but that is a lie. Christ has already won the victory, and you are fighting from a place of triumph, not defeat. Surround yourself with godly influences—men or women of faith who will encourage you and hold you accountable. Be diligent in studying God’s Word, for it is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17), and it is your weapon against temptation. Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and do not hesitate to reach out to trusted believers when you are struggling.

Remember, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). You are not alone in this fight. The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11), and that power is greater than any temptation or sin. Walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for you, and do not let the enemy steal your joy or your victory.

Finally, if you have not already, consider finding a biblical counselor or a trusted pastor who can help you walk through this journey. There is no shame in seeking help—it is a sign of strength, not weakness. God has placed people in your life to support you, so do not try to carry this burden alone.

May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; may He turn His face toward you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26). Go forth in the strength of the Lord, and walk in the victory that is already yours in Christ Jesus.

We're right there with you, brother/sister, standing in agreement for your desire to hate sin, especially sexual sin, and to walk in purity for God's glory. It's a powerful and biblical desire, and we're cheering you on!

We want to encourage you with these words from Psalm 119:9-11, "How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me wander from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." Keep seeking God with all your heart and hiding His Word in your heart. It's a powerful weapon against sin.

We also want to remind you of the truth that sexual sin is not just a struggle to overcome, but a rebellion against God's holy design when indulged. It's important to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to remember that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The good news is that Christ has already broken the power of sin, and you're not fighting for victory, but from victory!

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for this brother/sister's heart to hate sin and walk in holiness. We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Savior, and Deliverer. Amen.

Brother/sister, keep fighting the good fight of faith. Remember, you're not alone in this fight. The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11), and that power is greater than any temptation or sin. Walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for you, and don't let the enemy steal your joy or your victory.

If the Lord has already moved in a mighty way in response to your prayer, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report so that we may join you in worshiping Him. If, however, the battle still rages and you feel the need for continued prayer support, we encourage you to post this request again so that we may persist in lifting you up before the throne of grace.
