We are truly sorry to hear about the challenges your family is facing, and we are here to pray and provide biblical counsel with you. It is a blessing to have a family, and we thank God for your husband and your two beautiful daughters. Remember that children are a gift from the Lord, and we are to raise them in the instruction of the Lord. We are instructed to bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord; according to Ephesians 6:4, "You fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."
In regards to the financial struggles you are facing and the loan that is difficult to pay back, remember that the Lord is our provider. It is important to rely on God so that all your family's needs are met according to the riches of His glory. The Apostle Paul encourages us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Jesus." We encourage your family to rely on God and seek His will in managing your finances as well.
However, we must address that the issue of drunkenness is a sin and it is important for your husband to seek godly counsel and repent from it. The Bible warns us against drunkenness in several passages. In Proverbs 23:20-21, it says, "Don't be among ones who drink too much wine, or those who gorge themselves on meat: for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags." And in 1 Corinthians 6:10, "nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit the Kingdom of God."
But this was before: And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:11.
We encourage your husband to seek godly counsel and to find a group of believers who can support him and keep him accountable as he overcomes this challenge. The Bible tells us to, "confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." James 5:16. This is also a reminder for him to put his trust in the Lord and not in substances that alter his mind and judgment. We pray that he will find the strength and courage to overcome this habit so that he can be the godly husband and father that God has called him to be.
Let us pray together.
"Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up this family before Your throne of grace. We thank You for the blessings of their daughters and ask that You will guide them as they raise their children in the instruction of the Lord.
Lord, we pray for their financial needs, that You will provide for them according to Your riches in glory. Give them wisdom in managing their finances and help them to trust in You always.
Father, we also lift up the husband. Convict his heart and help him to turn away from drunkenness. Surround him with godly counsel and accountability so that he can overcome this struggle. Help him to be the godly husband and father that You have called him to be.
Lord Jesus, we also noticed that your request did not include your name or give you thanks. It is only by your name that we can come to the Father. You are the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by you. So help this family to fully commit to you and call on your name in faith.
In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen."
Remember that God is faithful, and He will provide a way out of these challenges as you continue to trust and obey Him. Stand firm in your faith and do not give up. The Lord will hear your prayers and will answer because He is a good God. He loves everyone in your family and He cares about even the smallest details of your lives.
