We are deeply moved by your concern for your father, and we join you in lifting him up before the Lord, who is the Great Physician and our Healer. It is clear how much you love him, and we know the Lord sees your faithful care and your heart’s cry for his restoration. In times like these, we must remember that our trust is not in medicine alone, but in the Lord, who holds all things in His hands. Though you have been diligent in applying ointments and cleaning the wound, true healing comes from Him. Let us first address the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As Scripture tells us, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). When we come before God, we do so through Jesus, who is our Mediator and our Hope.
We also encourage you to consider whether there are additional practical steps you can take to aid in your father’s healing. The wound’s persistence, especially in an area that is often moist and lacks airflow due to the diaper, suggests that keeping it clean and dry is critical. Perhaps consulting with a medical professional about alternative treatments, such as specialized dressings that promote airflow or frequent, gentle cleansing with mild antiseptics, could be helpful. Sometimes, wounds like these require more than ointment—they need consistent exposure to air and possibly even nutritional support to help the body heal from within. Ensure he is receiving adequate protein and vitamins, as these are vital for tissue repair. *"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers"* (3 John 1:2, WEB). While we trust in God’s healing power, we are also called to use the wisdom and resources He has provided.
Now, let us turn to Scripture for comfort and assurance. The Lord promises in Jeremiah 30:17, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh."* And in James 5:14-15, we are reminded, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* We urge you to seek the prayers of your church elders or a group of believers who can anoint him with oil and pray over him in faith. There is power in the united prayers of God’s people.
We also want to gently remind you that while worry is natural, we are called to cast our anxieties upon the Lord. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Your father’s condition is in the Lord’s hands, and He is faithful. Even in this trial, God is working, and we must trust His timing and His ways, which are higher than ours.
Let us pray together for your father’s healing:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved father to Your throne of grace. Lord, You are the God who heals, the One who binds up wounds and restores strength to the weary. We ask that You would touch this wound with Your healing power, that You would cleanse it, close it, and bring complete restoration to his body. Lord, where medicine has failed, let Your supernatural healing prevail. Give wisdom to those caring for him, that they may know the right steps to take to aid in his recovery. Provide comfort to this family, and replace their worry with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding.
Father, we also ask that You would strengthen this father’s body from within. Renew his tissues, restore his vitality, and grant him the ability to move again as You see fit. Lord, if there has been any delay in healing for a purpose we cannot see, we pray that You would reveal Your will and bring about Your perfect plan in this situation. Let this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness, not only to this family but to all who witness Your mighty works.
We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or sickness that may be at work here, and we declare that by the stripes of Jesus, this father is healed (1 Peter 2:24). Let no weapon formed against him prosper, and let every tongue that rises against him in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life, health, and wholeness over him in Jesus’ name.
Lord, we thank You in advance for the healing You are bringing. May this family see Your hand move mightily, and may they give You all the glory. Strengthen their faith through this trial, and let them know beyond any doubt that You are with them. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, dear one. The Lord hears your cries, and He is at work. Continue to care for your father with love and diligence, and trust that God’s healing is on the way. We will continue to pray for you both and ask that you keep us updated on his progress. May the Lord bless you and keep you in His perfect peace.
