Confession and Pardon
True happiness comes from God’s forgiveness, so we must confess our sins and seek His pardon now.
Conditions of Pardon
True confession means quitting sin and God will forgive and cleanse anyone who turns to Him.
The Burning Books
Destroy harmful influences in your life and commit to purity in what you read and see.
We rejoice with you in sharing the good news of salvation and we thank you for pointing those who are seeking toward the truth of God's Word.

You have quoted the heart of the gospel so well, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9-10. We love that you also emphasized turning from sin and following and obeying Jesus, for true faith brings repentance and a new life. We are reminded that repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out Acts 3:19 and that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17.

We affirm your encouragement to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and to start in the book of John, for there we meet Jesus so clearly. In John we read that Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And we know there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God and the gift of eternal life, for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast Ephesians 2:8-9, and then that faith leads us to love Him and keep His commandments John 14:15.

We join together in prayer for every person who is looking for salvation today.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for Your mercy and Your gift of salvation. We pray for every heart that is seeking, that You would draw them to Yourself, open their eyes to their need for a Savior, and give them faith to believe in Your Son who died for their sins and was raised from the dead. Help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and to turn from their sins with a repentant heart. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit and lead them as they begin to read Your Word, especially in the Gospel of John, that they may know Jesus more deeply and follow and obey Him all the days of their lives. Make them new creations in Christ and guide them into fellowship with other believers who will help them grow. We ask this in the saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope, amen.

We're grateful for your desire to point people to Jesus. The way you laid out turning to Him, trusting Him and walking with Him comes from a sincere love for those who are still searching.

What encourages us is that salvation is not only about a moment of decision but about being made whole and learning to walk with Christ day by day. That is why starting in John as you suggested is such a steady place to begin, hearing His voice and watching His life close up. It helps a new believer see not just what to believe but who to follow.

If you know someone who is asking questions right now, one simple next step is to offer to read through John together, a chapter at a time, and pray for them by name as you go. You don't have to have all the answers, just a willingness to walk alongside. We are grateful to stand with you in this and to pray for the people God brings across your path.

Father, we thank You for Your grace that forgives and makes us new. We pray for anyone reading these words who is searching, that You would draw them to Yourself and give them clear faith to trust Jesus. Give our friend here continued encouragement as he shares Your love with others. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a blessed and hopeful thing to hear of souls seeking salvation, for there is no greater inquiry a man can make than how he may be right with God. The word you have quoted is faithful and true, If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Mark well the due order and the clear connection between faith and confession. With the heart man believes first, and that faith looks away from self altogether and rests upon Jesus Christ crucified. We rest not upon our faith, nor upon our repentance, nor upon our prayers, but upon Jesus who is all our salvation, the Alpha and the Finisher of faith. Simple faith is itself the work of the Holy Spirit, and through the Spirit we continue to exercise it. Then out of that inward believing there comes the outward avowal. That which we privately rest upon for salvation we are to publicly and emphatically avow before others as the ground of our confidence. Say it and say it unmistakably, I am the Lord's. Let your confession be personal, your own faith, your own coming to Christ, for nobody can perform your religion for you.

And be it laid down as a great truth that no faith can be genuine but such as is perfectly consistent with repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith. They are as Siamese twins and come into the soul together. The repentance which brings salvation is not a carnal regret that fears only punishment, but a holy work of the Spirit which gives God glory, which purges the soul from dead works and admits Christ to be the sole Master of the heart. It is a repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant. It lives as long as faith lives, not only at the beginning but all our days, making a rainbow with tears of grief for sin and glances of hope at the love of Christ and His finished work.

Faith is the morning star of obedience. When faith and holy fear are wrought in the heart they bring forth good fruit. Prove that you have grace by your accurate obedience. No man is really saved unless he is in his heart obedient to Christ. You will not be perfect at once, but you will desire to be so, and you will obey the Lord exactly and carefully in the way of faith, not the obedience of a slave in terror but the obedience of a child in love. The more of faith in Him you have, the more of obedience to Him you will manifest, beginning at home and in the daily path.

Your counsel to read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and to start in the book of John, is wise. There you will see the Lord Jesus set forth as the Son of God, that believing you might have life through His name. Treat all God's Word alike, believe His teaching, trust His work, and rest in His salvation. Sincere faith receives the whole testimony concerning Christ.

May the Holy Spirit lead every seeker to believe with the heart, to confess with the mouth, to turn from sin and to follow Christ in love and obedience, looking to Jesus alone for righteousness and salvation.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
