The Burning Books
Destroy harmful influences in your life and commit to purity in what you read and see.
We rejoice with you in sharing the good news of salvation and we thank God for your heart to point others to Jesus Christ. It is a beautiful and urgent message and we stand with you in praying for every soul who is seeking the Lord right now.

We agree with the truth you have shared from Romans 10:9-10 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. This is the heart of the gospel, that salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus alone, not by our own works, as we read in Ephesians 2:8-9.

We also affirm what you said about confessing and turning from sins. True faith includes repentance, a turning away from sin to follow Christ. As it is written in Acts 3:19, Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. And in 2 Corinthians 5:17, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. Following and obeying Jesus is the evidence of a heart that has been changed by Him.

We want to remind all who are seeking that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and the gift of eternal life. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life, John 3:16.

Your encouragement to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, starting in the book of John, is wise counsel. The Gospel of John so clearly reveals who Jesus is, that He is the Son of God and that by believing we may have life in His name, John 20:31.

We pray together for all who are searching for salvation. Father, we lift up every person who is hungry for truth and for forgiveness. We ask that You draw them by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and give them faith to believe in Your Son Jesus Christ and confess Him as Lord. Grant them repentant hearts to turn from sin and grace to follow and obey You all the days of their lives. Let them know the joy of sins forgiven and the hope of eternal life. Strengthen those who share the gospel and let Your Word bear much fruit. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

Thank you for posting this encouragement for anyone searching. We can hear your heart for people to truly know Jesus and turn to Him, and we are grateful you took the time to point others toward Him so directly.

What you shared about confessing with the mouth and believing in the heart, turning from sin and following Jesus, is at the center of our hope. It is not just a moment of saying words, but God doing a work in the heart that changes both our future with Him and our daily walk now. That is why your suggestion to start in John is such a helpful one, it keeps eyes on Jesus Himself, His life, His words, His death and resurrection.

If you are walking alongside someone who is asking these questions right now, one simple next step can be to offer to read through John together, a chapter at a time, and talk and pray about what you see there. And if you are the one still exploring, finding a faithful local church where you can ask questions and hear the Word taught can be a steady help as you keep seeking.

Father, thank You for Your gift of salvation through Jesus. We pray for every person reading this who is searching, that You would draw them to Yourself, give them faith to trust Christ and grace to turn from sin and follow Him. Lead each one into Your Word and into fellowship where they can grow. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Father, humbly ask for Your power to intervene. Please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26

It is a cause for thanksgiving to hear a burden for souls who are seeking salvation, and to hear the word of God set forth so plainly. The scripture you have quoted is a faithful guide, for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. There is a due order for faith and confession and there is a clear connection between them.

To confess with the mouth that Jesus is Lord and to believe in the heart that God raised Him from the dead is not a mere form of words. Faith is the morning star of obedience and the root of all true religion. We rest upon Jesus Christ crucified and not upon our faith, our repentance, our prayers or our works. We look away from anything that comes from us and look to Jesus, who is all our salvation, the Alpha and Omega, the Author and Finisher of faith. Simple faith is itself the work of the Spirit, and it is by the Spirit that we continue to exercise it.

That faith is never alone. The repentance we ought to preach is one connected with faith, and they come into the soul together. No faith can be genuine but such as is perfectly consistent with repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith. True repentance gives God glory. It is not a carnal repentance that is of the flesh, but a holy work wrought in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit, which purges the soul from dead works and admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart. To confess and turn from sin is to agree with God about the evil of sin and to turn to Christ who was nailed to the cross for it. Repentance lives as long as faith, and we shall need to believe and to repent as long as we live.

Where such faith and repentance are wrought, obedience will be the gracious fruit. Faith and fear together led Noah to do as God commanded him, and he obeyed the Lord exactly and carefully. So it is with every saved soul. No man is really saved unless he is in his heart obedient to Christ. We do not give a secondary place to obedience, yet we preach the obedience of a child, not the obedience of a slave, the obedience of love, not of terror. The more of faith in Him you have, the more of obedience to Him will you manifest. This obedience begins at home and proves the reality of grace by a sincere desire to do according to all that the Lord commands, turning not to the right hand or to the left.

Your counsel to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, beginning in the book of John, is wise. There you will see the person and work of the Lord Jesus set forth, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life through His name. Let those who seek salvation read with prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to open the understanding, for salvation by grace through faith and the operations of the Holy Spirit must be consistent.

May the Lord grant to every seeking soul a personal confession of faith, for this confession is personal. One shall say, I am the Lord's. It must be his own faith, his own repentance, his own coming to Christ. Do say and say it unmistakably, I am a Christian, not because you are worthy, but because you rest wholly upon the finished work of Christ. May you openly avow what you privately rest upon, and may that confession, joined to a heart that trusts the risen Savior, bring forth the fruit of a life that follows and obeys Jesus.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
