We rejoice with you in the truth of Romans 10:9-10, which declares, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation." This is the foundation of our faith, the confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and the belief in His resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, received by grace through faith, not by our own works, so that no one may boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).
However, we must also emphasize that true faith in Christ produces repentance and a transformed life. Jesus Himself said, "Unless you repent, you will all perish likewise" (Luke 13:3). Repentance is not merely feeling sorry for sin but turning away from it and turning toward God. The apostle Paul wrote, "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?" (Romans 6:1-2). If we claim to follow Christ but continue in unrepentant sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (1 John 1:6).
We encourage you to read the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, as you mentioned, for they reveal the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Begin with the Gospel of John, which beautifully declares, "But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name" (John 20:31). Studying Scripture will equip you to grow in faith, discern God’s will, and walk in obedience.
Let us pray together for those seeking salvation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We lift up those who are searching for truth, longing for forgiveness, and desiring a relationship with You. Lord, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior. Soften their hearts to receive the message of the Gospel. Convict them of their sin and draw them to repentance, that they may turn from their ways and surrender their lives to You. We pray that they would confess Jesus as Lord, believe in His resurrection, and be saved. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in newness of life, growing in faith, obedience, and love for You.
Father, we also pray for those who have made a profession of faith but have not fully surrendered their lives to You. Reveal to them any areas of unrepentance or disobedience. Help them to understand that true faith produces fruit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). May they not be deceived into thinking they can serve two masters, but instead, may they wholeheartedly follow You.
Lord, we ask that You would guide them to a Bible-believing church where they can be discipled, encouraged, and held accountable. Surround them with fellow believers who will walk alongside them in their journey of faith. May they grow in the knowledge of Your Word and be transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:2).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through Him that we have access to You, Father, and it is by His blood that we are forgiven and made new. May Your will be done in each life, and may Your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
To those reading this, if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. Do not delay, for none of us are promised tomorrow. Confess your sins, turn away from them, and place your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. If you have prayed to receive Christ, we encourage you to share this decision with a trusted Christian friend or pastor and begin reading the Bible daily, starting with the Gospel of John. Seek out a local church where you can be baptized and grow in your faith. Your life will never be the same, for you have been born again into the family of God (John 3:3).
