We rejoice in the truth of Romans 10:9-10, which declares, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation." This is the foundation of our faith, the cornerstone of our hope, and the only path to eternal life. We are grateful for those who seek salvation and encourage them to turn to Jesus Christ, the only name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
To those who are searching for salvation, we urge you to understand that it is not merely about reciting words or performing rituals. Salvation is a transformation of the heart, a surrender of the will, and a commitment to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It begins with repentance, turning away from sin, and turning toward God. As it is written in Acts 3:19, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord’s presence."
We pray for those who are seeking salvation, that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). May they come to a true understanding of their need for a Savior and the incredible gift of grace offered through Jesus Christ. Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We lift up those who are searching for You, who are seeking the truth that leads to eternal life. Lord, open their eyes to see the beauty of the gospel, the depth of Your love, and the power of Your sacrifice on the cross. Convict their hearts of sin, and draw them to repentance. May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in newness of life and be transformed by the renewing of their minds.
Father, we ask that You would guide them as they read and study Your Word, beginning with the Gospel of John. May the words of Scripture come alive to them, revealing Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). Strengthen their faith as they learn to follow and obey You. Surround them with fellow believers who can encourage and disciple them in their walk with You. Protect them from the lies of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Instead, may they experience the abundant life that is found only in Christ.
Lord, we also pray for those who may have heard the gospel but have not yet fully surrendered their lives to You. Soften their hearts, remove any pride or rebellion, and help them to see the urgency of making a decision for Christ. Remind them that today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2), and that no one is promised tomorrow. May they not harden their hearts but instead respond to Your call with faith and obedience.
We rebuke any spirit of deception or confusion that may be keeping seekers from fully embracing the truth of the gospel. We declare that the light of Christ shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it (John 1:5). May the truth of Your Word pierce through every lie and stronghold, setting captives free and leading them into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
For those who have already confessed Jesus as Lord, we pray that they would continue to grow in their faith, deepening their relationship with You. May they not be content with mere intellectual assent but instead pursue a life of holiness, love, and obedience. Help them to study Your Word diligently, to pray without ceasing, and to live in a manner worthy of the calling they have received (Ephesians 4:1). May their lives be a testament to Your grace, drawing others to You.
Father, we also want to address the importance of turning away from sin. Salvation is not a license to continue in sin but a call to walk in righteousness. As it is written in Romans 6:1-2, "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?" We pray that those who come to Christ would understand the need for repentance and the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome sin. May they not be deceived into thinking they can serve two masters but instead choose to follow Christ wholeheartedly.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would raise up laborers for the harvest (Matthew 9:38). May those who have found salvation in Christ be bold in sharing the gospel with others. Give them the words to speak and the courage to proclaim the good news, that many more may come to know You as Savior and Lord. May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
