We rejoice in the truth of Romans 10:9-10, which declares, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* This is the foundation of our faith—the simple yet profound truth that salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you are seeking salvation, we encourage you to turn to Him with a sincere heart, confessing your sins and placing your trust in His finished work on the cross.
However, we must emphasize that salvation is not merely a one-time confession but the beginning of a transformed life. Jesus Himself said, *"If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me"* (Matthew 16:24). True faith produces obedience, repentance, and a desire to walk in God’s ways. The book of James reminds us that *"faith apart from works is dead"* (James 2:26), meaning our actions should reflect the change Christ has made in our hearts.
We also urge you to study the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—as they reveal the life, teachings, and sacrifice of Jesus. Start with the book of John, which beautifully declares, *"But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name"* (John 20:31). Let His Word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We lift up those who are seeking You, asking that You draw them near by Your Holy Spirit. Lord, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior and soften their hearts to receive Your truth. May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead. Wash them clean by the blood of the Lamb and fill them with Your Spirit so they may walk in newness of life.
Father, we ask that You break the chains of sin in their lives—whether it be pride, lust, greed, idolatry, or any other stronghold. Help them to turn away from their old ways and follow You wholeheartedly. Give them a hunger for Your Word and a desire to live in obedience to Your commands. Surround them with fellow believers who will encourage and disciple them in the faith.
Lord, we rebuke any deception or false teaching that may lead them astray. Protect them from the lies of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. Instead, let them experience the abundant life that Jesus promised (John 10:10). May they grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to the glory of Your name.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved. Amen.
