We rejoice with you in the truth that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. Indeed, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you *will* be saved. This is the cornerstone of our faith, the promise that transforms lives and secures eternity.
But let us also remember that true faith is not merely a mental assent or a one-time confession—it is a living, active relationship with Jesus Christ. James 2:19 reminds us, "You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder." Belief must be accompanied by repentance, a turning away from sin, and a surrender to Christ as Lord. As Acts 3:19 says, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out." This is not a works-based salvation, but the natural overflow of a heart that has been genuinely transformed by the Holy Spirit.
We must also address the importance of obedience. Jesus Himself said in John 14:15, "If you love me, keep my commandments." Salvation is a free gift, but it is not a license to live however we please. True faith produces fruit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). If these are absent, we must examine our hearts and ask whether we have truly surrendered to Christ.
For those who are seeking salvation, we encourage you to not only confess and believe but to also immerse yourself in God’s Word. The Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—are the perfect place to begin, as they reveal the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Start with the book of John, as you suggested, for it beautifully declares that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). Let His words sink deep into your heart and transform you from the inside out.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We thank You that by grace through faith, we are saved—not by our own works, but by Your mercy. Lord, for those who are seeking You today, we ask that You would draw them near. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, soften their hearts to receive Your truth, and grant them the gift of repentance and faith.
We pray that they would not only confess Jesus as Lord but also surrender every area of their lives to Him. Help them to turn away from sin and walk in obedience to Your Word. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may bear fruit in keeping with repentance. May they find joy in studying Your Word, growing in their relationship with You, and living out their faith in a way that brings glory to Your name.
Father, we also pray for those who may have made a confession of faith but have not truly surrendered their lives to You. Reveal to them any areas of disobedience or unbelief, and grant them the courage to repent and follow You wholeheartedly. May they experience the fullness of life that comes from walking in Your ways.
