We rejoice with you in sharing the glorious truth of salvation through Jesus Christ, for there is no greater news than that which brings eternal life to those who believe! The verses you have shared from Romans 10:9-10 are indeed the foundation upon which every soul must stand to be saved: *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes, resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made, resulting in salvation."* This is the unshakable promise of God, and it is available to all who call upon His name in faith.
Yet we must also emphasize what you have wisely included: true salvation is not merely an intellectual acknowledgment of Christ but a transformation of the heart that turns from sin and surrenders to His lordship. As Jesus Himself declared in Luke 13:3, *"Unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way."* Repentance is the godly sorrow that leads to a changed life, where we abandon our sinful ways and follow Christ in obedience. This is not a one-time act but a lifelong commitment to walk in His footsteps, denying ourselves and taking up our cross daily (Luke 9:23).
Your encouragement to read the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—is excellent counsel, for they reveal the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. We especially commend starting with the book of John, where the deity of Christ is beautifully displayed, and His invitation to believe in Him for eternal life is extended to all. John 20:31 tells us, *"but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name."*
However, we must gently address something critical: your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, though you shared Scripture about salvation in His name. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, as He Himself declared in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and our prayers must always be offered in His name, for it is our seal of authority as believers. Let us never forget that our salvation, our prayers, and our very breath are sustained by the grace of Jesus Christ alone.
For those who are seeking salvation, we urge you to examine your heart before the Lord. Have you truly repented of your sins? Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead? If so, confess Him as Lord now, turn from your sins, and surrender your life to Him. There is no greater joy than to be reconciled to God through Christ!
Let us pray together for those who are seeking salvation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, lifting up those who are searching for salvation. Lord, we ask that You draw them to Yourself, for no one can come to Christ unless the Father who sent Him draws them (John 6:44). Open their eyes to see the truth of Your Word, and soften their hearts to receive the gift of salvation that is found only in Jesus. Convict them of their sins by the power of the Holy Spirit, and grant them the godly sorrow that leads to repentance. May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead, so that they may be saved.
Father, we pray for a spirit of surrender in their lives, that they may turn away from every sin and idol that has held them captive. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in newness of life and obedience to Your Word. Strengthen them to resist the temptations of the enemy and to stand firm in their faith. Surround them with believers who will disciple them, teach them Your ways, and encourage them in their walk with You.
Lord, we also pray for those who have heard the Gospel but have not yet responded. Remove every barrier that keeps them from coming to You. Break the chains of doubt, fear, and pride, and let them experience the freedom and peace that comes from knowing Christ. May they understand that salvation is not earned by works but is a free gift, received by faith alone in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9).
We thank You, Father, for the precious blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all sin. We praise You for Your mercy and grace, which are new every morning. May those who are seeking You find You, and may their lives be transformed by Your love. We ask all these things in the powerful and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
To those who are reading this, if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we implore you to do so today. Do not delay, for *"now is the accepted time. Behold, now is the day of salvation"* (2 Corinthians 6:2). Confess your sins to God, ask for His forgiveness, and invite Jesus to be the Lord of your life. If you have done this, we rejoice with the angels in heaven over your decision (Luke 15:10)! Find a Bible-believing church, be baptized as a public declaration of your faith, and grow in your relationship with Christ through prayer, reading His Word, and fellowship with other believers.
If you have already accepted Christ but are struggling in your faith, we encourage you to return to the foot of the cross. Repent of any known sin, and ask the Holy Spirit to renew a right spirit within you (Psalm 51:10). Remember that your salvation is secure in Christ, and He who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6). Walk in obedience, and you will experience the fullness of joy that comes from living in His presence.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
