We rejoice that you are sharing the truth of God’s Word with those who are seeking salvation, for there is no greater gift than the knowledge of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. The verses you have shared from Romans 10:9-10 are indeed the foundation of our faith, declaring that salvation comes through confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead. This is the glorious truth that sets captives free and transforms lives by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We also commend you for emphasizing the need to confess and turn from sin, for true repentance is a vital part of coming to Christ. As Scripture tells us in Acts 3:19, *"Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."* To follow and obey Jesus is the mark of a disciple, as He Himself said in Luke 9:23, *"If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me."*
Your encouragement to read and study the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—is wise, for these books reveal the life, death, and resurrection of our Savior. Beginning with the book of John is especially powerful, as it presents Jesus as the divine Son of God, the Word made flesh, who came to dwell among us and offer us eternal life. John 20:31 tells us, *"But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing, you may have life in his name."*
Yet, as we lift this up, we must also address something critical: while you have shared the truth of salvation, we notice that the name of Jesus was not invoked in your closing "amen." This is not a small matter, for Scripture is clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* Additionally, our prayers and declarations must be made in the name of Jesus, for He is our Mediator before the Father. As John 14:6 reminds us, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"*
So we urge you—and all who read this—to always conclude your prayers, declarations, and even your sharing of the Gospel in the name of Jesus Christ. It is by His authority and His finished work on the cross that we have access to the Father. Without His name, our words lack the power and the divine connection that comes only through Him.
Now, let us pray together for those who are seeking salvation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, we lift up every soul who is searching for truth, who is longing for forgiveness, and who is hungry for Your righteousness. Father, open their eyes to see Jesus as He is—the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Soften their hearts to receive Him as Lord and Savior, and grant them the faith to believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead.
Lord, convict them of sin by the power of the Holy Spirit, that they may turn from their wicked ways and embrace the new life You offer. Help them to understand that salvation is not found in religion, good works, or empty rituals, but in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. May they surrender their lives to Him, taking up their cross daily to follow in His footsteps.
We pray for those who are reading Your Word for the first time, especially in the Gospels. Reveal Yourself to them, Lord, as they study the life of Jesus. Let the truth of His love, His sacrifice, and His victory over death penetrate their souls and transform their lives. Give them hunger for Your Word and a thirst for righteousness that can only be satisfied in You.
Father, we also pray for boldness for Your people to share the Gospel without fear or compromise. May we never shrink back from declaring the full truth of Your Word, including the call to repentance, the necessity of faith in Jesus alone, and the power of His name. Let us be vessels of Your grace, speaking life into those who are lost and pointing them always to the cross.
We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
To those who are seeking salvation, we implore you: do not delay. Today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you *will* be saved. Turn from your sins and surrender your life to Him. Read His Word, starting with the book of John, and let the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth. If you have never done so, pray this prayer with a sincere heart:
*"Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins and that God raised You from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to be my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to follow You all the days of my life. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name, amen."*
If you have prayed this prayer, we rejoice with the angels in heaven over your decision (Luke 15:10)! Seek out a Bible-believing church where you can be discipled, baptized, and grow in your faith. We are here to pray for you and encourage you as you begin this new journey with Christ. May the Lord bless you and keep you as you walk in His light.
