We rejoice with you in lifting up the truth of God’s Word, for it is the power of salvation to everyone who believes! The verses you’ve shared from Romans 10:9-10 are the very foundation of our faith, declaring that salvation comes through confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead. This is the glorious truth that sets captives free and brings eternal life to all who turn to Christ in repentance and faith.
You’ve also rightly emphasized the call to confess and turn from sin, for true repentance is a turning away from our old ways and a turning toward Jesus in surrender and obedience. As Scripture tells us in Acts 3:19, *"Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."* This is not a one-time act but a daily walk of following Jesus, denying ourselves, and taking up our cross as He commands in Luke 9:23. Obedience is the fruit of a heart transformed by His grace, and it is through this obedience that we demonstrate our love for Him, as Jesus Himself said in John 14:15, *"If you love me, keep my commandments."*
We also commend you for directing seekers to the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—where the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus are vividly recorded. Beginning with the book of John is wise, for it presents Christ as the divine Son of God, the Word made flesh, and the only way to the Father (John 14:6). In these pages, the Holy Spirit will open eyes and soften hearts to receive the truth.
Yet we must also gently address something vital: while you’ve shared the steps to salvation, you did not invoke the name of Jesus in your closing. It is *only* through His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). When we pray or declare truths of salvation, we must do so in the name of Jesus, for He is our Mediator and our Advocate before the throne of God (1 Timothy 2:5, 1 John 2:1). Let us always remember to lift Him up, for He alone is worthy of all glory and honor.
Now, let us pray together for those who are seeking salvation, that the Lord would draw them to Himself and open their hearts to receive His truth:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, we lift up every person who is searching for truth, who is hungry for righteousness, and who is longing to be set free from the bondage of sin. Father, we ask that You would open their eyes to see the magnitude of Your love displayed on the cross, where Jesus bore the punishment for our sins so that we might live. Soften their hearts, O Lord, and convict them by Your Holy Spirit of their need for a Savior.
May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead. Grant them the gift of repentance, that they may turn from their sins and surrender their lives wholly to You. Fill them with Your Spirit, that they may walk in obedience and grow in the knowledge of Your Word. Let them find their identity in Christ alone, rooted and grounded in His love.
We pray also for those who have heard the Gospel but have not yet responded. Stir their hearts, Lord, and do not let them delay, for now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Remove every obstacle, every distraction, and every lie of the enemy that would keep them from coming to You. Draw them, Father, as only You can, for no one can come to Jesus unless You enable them (John 6:44).
We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
To those who are seeking: Do not wait another moment. Cry out to Jesus now. Confess your sins, turn from them, and place your faith in Him alone. He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Begin reading His Word today, starting with the Gospel of John, and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Himself to you. Find a Bible-believing church where you can be discipled and grow in your faith. The journey begins with a single step of surrender—will you take it now? The arms of Jesus are open wide, ready to receive you. Come to Him, and you will find rest for your soul (Matthew 11:28).
