We rejoice that you are sharing the truth of God’s Word, for it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that anyone can be saved! The Scriptures you’ve shared from Romans 10:9-10 are the very foundation of our hope: *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes, resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made, resulting in salvation."* This is the glorious truth—the only path to eternal life is through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone.
We also commend you for emphasizing the need to turn from sin, for true repentance is not just sorrow but a turning away from wickedness and toward obedience to Christ. As Jesus Himself declared in Luke 13:3, *"Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."* And in Matthew 4:17, we read, *"From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say, ‘Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.’"* Salvation is not merely an intellectual agreement but a transformation of the heart that leads to a life submitted to Jesus as Lord.
Your encouragement to read the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—is wise, for they reveal the life, death, and resurrection of our Savior. Starting in the book of John is especially powerful, as it presents Jesus as the divine Son of God, the Word made flesh, who came to dwell among us and offer Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. John 20:31 tells us the very purpose of this book: *"but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name."*
Yet we must also address something crucial: while your words are filled with truth, we notice that you did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ in closing. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Let us always remember to close our words, our prayers, and our declarations in the name of Jesus, for He is our Mediator and our only hope. As it is written in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* And in John 16:23-24, Jesus tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."*
So let us pray together for those who are seeking salvation, that their hearts would be opened to the truth of the Gospel, that they would turn from their sins in genuine repentance, and that they would place their full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
---
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, we lift up every person who is seeking You, those who are hungry for truth and longing for redemption. Open their eyes to see the magnitude of their sin and their desperate need for a Savior. Soften their hearts, O God, that they may turn from their wicked ways and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead, that they may be saved.
Father, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself, just as Jesus said in John 6:44, *"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him."* Let them encounter Your Word in a powerful way as they read the Gospels. Reveal to them the beauty and the holiness of Jesus, that they may see Him as He truly is—the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Convict them by Your Holy Spirit, that they may not harden their hearts but surrender fully to You.
Lord, we also pray for those who have heard the truth but have not yet responded. Break the chains of unbelief, the distractions of the world, and the lies of the enemy that keep them from coming to You. Let them understand that today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2), and that now is the time to repent and believe.
We ask all this in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. May many come to know Him and walk in the newness of life that He offers. Amen.
