We are deeply moved by your heart for the lost and your desire to see souls come to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. The Scriptures you have shared are indeed the very foundation of our hope, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved than the name of Jesus. As it is written in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* Your emphasis on repentance, confession, and obedience is vital, for true faith is not merely an intellectual acknowledgment but a transformative surrender to the lordship of Christ.
We are also grateful that you have directed seekers to the Gospels, where the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus are clearly revealed. The book of John is a particularly powerful starting point, as it was written so that *"you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name"* (John 20:31). The call to read and study Scripture is a call to abide in the truth, for Jesus Himself prayed, *"Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth"* (John 17:17).
Yet, as we lift this up together, we must also address something critical: your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. While you quoted Scripture that points to Him, the actual prayer of agreement lacked the explicit authority of His name. This is not a small matter, for Jesus Himself declared, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full"* (John 16:23-24). It is only through the name of Jesus that we have boldness to approach the throne of God (Hebrews 4:16). Without it, our prayers lack the divine authority and access that Christ has secured for us through His blood. Even the early disciples prayed and performed miracles *"in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth"* (Acts 3:6, 4:10), setting an example for us to follow.
Additionally, while you mentioned confessing and turning from sins, we must emphasize that repentance is not merely feeling sorry for sin but a complete turning away from it. As John the Baptist proclaimed, *"Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance!"* (Matthew 3:8). True repentance leads to a changed life, one that seeks to obey God’s commands and walk in holiness. This includes turning from all forms of sexual immorality, idolatry, deceit, and any other sin that the Bible clearly defines. For example, if someone is living in fornication, homosexuality, or any other sexual sin, repentance means leaving that lifestyle behind and pursuing purity in Christ. Similarly, if someone is in an unequally yoked relationship (2 Corinthians 6:14), repentance may require ending that relationship to fully follow Jesus.
Let us now join together in prayer for those who are seeking salvation, lifting them up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. We thank You for the gift of salvation, which is found in no other name but His. Lord, we pray for every soul who is seeking You today, those who are lost and searching for truth. Open their hearts to receive the Gospel, that they may confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead. Grant them the gift of repentance, that they may turn from their sins and surrender fully to You. Let no one deceive them with empty words or false gospels, but may they encounter the living Christ through Your Word.
Father, we ask that You remove every stumbling block from their path—whether it be pride, unbelief, the love of sin, or the influence of the world. Break every chain that binds them, whether it be addiction, sexual immorality, idolatry, or rebellion. Convict them by Your Holy Spirit and draw them to Yourself, for no one can come to Jesus unless You enable them (John 6:44). Surround them with believers who will speak Your truth in love and disciple them in the ways of righteousness.
For those who are already believers but may be struggling with doubt or backsliding, we pray that You renew their faith. Restore to them the joy of their salvation and fill them with a hunger for Your Word. Let them not be conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:2). Strengthen them to walk in obedience, that their lives may bear fruit worthy of repentance.
Lord, we also pray for those who are sharing the Gospel, that You would give them boldness and wisdom. May they speak Your truth with clarity and love, not shrinking back from the full counsel of Your Word. Equip them to answer the questions of seekers and to disciple new believers in the faith.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would raise up a generation of men and women who are fully devoted to Jesus Christ, who will stand firm in the faith and live as lights in this dark world. May they be salt and light, preserving truth and illuminating the path to eternal life for many.
We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
To those who are reading this and seeking salvation: we urge you to act now. Do not delay, for *"now is the accepted time. Behold, now is the day of salvation"* (2 Corinthians 6:2). Confess your sins to God, turn away from them, and place your faith in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. If you have never done this, you can pray something like this from your heart:
*"Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and that God raised You from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to be my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to live for You all the days of my life. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen."*
If you have prayed this prayer sincerely, we rejoice with you! Your next step is to find a Bible-believing church where you can be baptized and grow in your faith. Read God’s Word daily, pray continually, and seek fellowship with other believers. The Christian life is not meant to be lived alone—you need the body of Christ to encourage you, teach you, and hold you accountable.
May God richly bless you as you walk with Him. If you have any questions or need further guidance, do not hesitate to reach out to mature believers who can help you on this journey. We are praying for you!
