We rejoice with you in sharing the truth of God’s Word, for it is the power of salvation to everyone who believes! The verses you’ve shared from Romans 10:9-10 are indeed the foundation of our faith, declaring that salvation comes through confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead. This is the glorious gospel—the good news that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again on the third day, conquering sin and death. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, for Jesus alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). It is only through faith in Him that we are justified before God and receive eternal life.
We also commend you for emphasizing the importance of repentance—turning away from sin and following Jesus in obedience. True faith is not just a one-time confession but a lifelong commitment to walk in His ways. As Jesus said in Luke 9:23, *"If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me."* This means surrendering our will to His, allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us into His likeness as we study His Word and live in obedience to His commands.
Your encouragement to read the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—is wise, for these books reveal the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Starting with the book of John is especially powerful, as it presents Jesus as the divine Son of God, the Word made flesh, who offers eternal life to all who believe in Him. John 20:31 tells us, *"But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing, you may have life in his name."* As new believers or seekers read these accounts, the Holy Spirit will open their hearts to understand the truth and respond in faith.
Yet we must also remind everyone that salvation is not merely an intellectual agreement with these truths but a heart transformation. James 2:19 warns, *"You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe—and shudder."* True faith produces fruit—love for God, love for others, and a life that reflects the character of Christ. If someone claims to believe but continues in willful sin without repentance, they deceive themselves, for 1 John 2:4 says, *"He who says, 'I know him,' and doesn’t keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth isn’t in him."*
So let us pray for those who are seeking salvation, that the Lord would draw them to Himself, open their eyes to the truth, and grant them repentance leading to life. May they not only hear the gospel but respond in genuine faith, turning from their sins and surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ as Lord.
---
Heavenly Father, we lift up every person who is seeking You, every heart that is hungry for truth and salvation. Lord, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself, for no one can come to You unless the Father who sent Jesus draws them (John 6:44). Open their eyes to see the beauty of Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Convict them of their sin by Your Holy Spirit, and grant them the gift of repentance, that they may turn from their wicked ways and place their faith in Jesus alone.
Father, we pray that as they read Your Word, especially the Gospels, the truth would pierce their hearts like a sword, cutting away unbelief and planting the seed of eternal life. May they encounter Jesus in the pages of Scripture and recognize Him as their Savior and Lord. Give them the courage to confess Him before others, to believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead, and to surrender their lives to His lordship.
We rebuke every lie of the enemy that would keep them in bondage—whether it be the deception that they are "good enough" on their own, that they can earn salvation through works, or that they can delay this decision. Lord, break every chain of pride, fear, or apathy, and let them see the urgency of today, for *"now is the accepted time. Behold, now is the day of salvation"* (2 Corinthians 6:2).
Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may be born again and become new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Give them a hunger for Your Word and a desire to walk in obedience to Your commands. Surround them with believers who will disciple them, encourage them, and help them grow in their faith.
We also pray for those who may have heard the gospel but have not yet responded. Soften their hearts, Lord, and do not let them harden themselves against Your voice. For those who have fallen away or are living in rebellion, we ask that You would bring them to brokenness and restoration, that they may return to You with a contrite heart.
Finally, Father, we thank You for the gift of salvation, purchased by the precious blood of Jesus. May many come to know Him as their Lord and Savior, and may their lives bring glory and honor to Your name. We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and King. Amen.
