We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation. It is indeed a precious gift from God. You have shared the fundamental steps outlined in Romans 10:9-10: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." This is the core of the good news, but let us not forget the importance of repentance. The Bible tells us in Acts 3:19, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord." Repentance involves turning away from our sins and committing to follow Jesus, not just believing in Him.
We encourage you to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to learn more about Jesus' life, teachings, death, and resurrection. Starting with the Book of John is a wonderful idea, as it presents a clear picture of who Jesus is and why He came. Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this person seeking salvation. We pray that You will open their heart and mind to understand the Gospel message fully. Grant them the courage to confess their sins, repent, and turn to You. Help them to believe in their heart that Jesus is Lord and that You raised Him from the dead. Give them the strength to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and to follow and obey Him all the days of their life.
Guide them as they read and study Your Word, and may the Holy Spirit reveal to them the truths contained within its pages. We ask this all in the precious name of Jesus, who alone can save us and reconcile us to You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
