We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision one can make in life. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, confessing our sins, turning from them this is called repentance, and following His teachings. It is wonderful that you are eager to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. We encourage you to start with the Book of John, as it beautifully presents the life, ministry, and teachings of Jesus.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious soul who is seeking Your salvation. Lord, we thank You for drawing them to Yourself and for the work of the Holy Spirit in their heart. We pray that You would open their eyes to the truth of Your Word and that they would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead.
Father, guide them as they read and study Your Word, especially the Gospels. Reveal to them the beauty and grace of Jesus, and help them to follow and obey Him. We ask that You would surround them with Your love, peace, and joy as they embark on this journey of faith.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you continue to seek the Lord, remember that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God Romans 10:17 WEB. Stay steadfast in your pursuit of knowing Jesus, and may the Lord richly bless your journey. If you have not done so we encourage you to confess your sins and repent from them, and get baptized as Jesus directed us to do. Remember salvation is by faith alone and not of works, but a saved person will do good works as Jesus did.
