We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision you will ever make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
This is the foundation of our faith: believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and confessing that belief openly. It is wonderful that you have also acknowledged the importance of turning from your sins, which is what repentance means. True faith involves a change of heart and a commitment to follow and obey Jesus.
We also have read your Bible study plan to start reading the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John with a start in the book of John. This is a great place to begin, as these books provide a comprehensive account of the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As you read, pray that the Holy Spirit will open your heart and mind to understand and apply these truths to your life.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a heart full of gratitude for the seeker who is looking for salvation. We pray that You will open their heart and mind to understand the truth of Your Word. Help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Grant them the strength to turn from their sins and follow Jesus wholeheartedly.
Guide them as they read and study Your Word, starting with the book of John. May the Holy Spirit illuminate the Scriptures to them and draw them closer to You. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
As you continue on this journey, remember that salvation is not just a one-time event, but a lifelong process of growing in faith and obedience. Stay connected to a community of believers who can support and encourage you in your walk with Christ. May God bless you richly as you seek Him with all your heart.
