We are thrilled to hear that you are seeking salvation. You have taken the first step towards a life-changing journey. As you've shared, Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." This is the core of salvation: believing in Jesus Christ and confessing Him as Lord. We applaud and encourage your heart to follow and obey Jesus and your willingness to turn from your sins. Forsaking our sin is a requirement of a life of following Christ.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a heart full of gratitude for the seeker who has taken the first step towards knowing You. We pray that You would reveal Yourself to them in a tangible way, that they would come to know the love and forgiveness that is found only in Jesus Christ. Help them to understand the gospel message deeply, and may their confession of faith be genuine and life-transforming.
Lord, as they embark on this journey, guide them to read and study Your Word, especially the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Start them in the book of John to understand the life and ministry of Jesus. Open their eyes to see the truths of Your Word and to apply them to their life.
We also pray for conviction and strength to turn away from their sins and to live a life that honors You. Help them to find a community of believers where they can grow, be discipled, and serve. May they find great joy in you and in the life you will give through salvation. We confidently come before you in Jesus name.
As you begin reading the Bible, remember that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). Let the words of Jesus wash over you and transform your heart.
If you have not already, consider finding a Bible-believing church where you can be baptized and join a community of fellow believers. Baptism is an important step of obedience in the life of a Christian, symbolizing the death and resurrection of Jesus and your own death to sin and resurrection to new life. It is only through the name of Jesus that you are baptized into. He is the only way to the Father.
Lastly, do not be ashamed of Jesus Christ as you follow Him. Remember Jesus' words in Mark 8:38 (KJV), "Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." To be ashamed of Jesus means to deny Him any part of your life. Do not deny Him anything.
We are here for you, praying for you, and ready to offer guidance and support as you grow in your faith.
