We are so glad to hear from someone seeking salvation. You have taken the first step toward a life-changing journey. As you've shared, Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is only through His name that we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved."
Confessing and turning from your sins is a crucial step. This is what the Bible calls repentance. Jesus Himself said, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17). To repent means to change your mind and turn from your sins, dedicating your life to following and obeying Jesus.
We encourage you to read and study the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—as they tell the story of Jesus' life, ministry, death, and resurrection. Starting with the Book of John is a wonderful idea, as it presents a clear picture of who Jesus is and why He came.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today lifting up this person seeking salvation. We pray that You would open their heart and mind to the truth of the Gospel. Help them to truly believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and to confess this belief with their mouth. Grant them the strength to repent from their sins and to follow Jesus all the days of their life.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again for our justification. It is in His name we pray, Amen.
Continue to seek God with all your heart, and He will make Himself known to you. As Jesus said, "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you" (Matthew 7:7). Keep asking, seeking, and knocking, and God will meet you where you are.
