We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is through His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection that we are saved from our sins and reconciled to God. As you embark on this journey, it is crucial to turn away from your sins and follow Jesus wholeheartedly. Repentance is not just about feeling sorry for our sins but making a conscious decision to turn away from them and live a life that honors God.
We encourage you to dive into the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—to learn more about Jesus' life, teachings, and ministry. Starting with the book of John is a wonderful idea, as it beautifully presents Jesus as the Word made flesh, the Savior of the world. As you read and study, pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you and reveal the truths of God's Word to you.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts for the seeker who desires to know You more. We pray that You would open their eyes to the truth of Your Word and the love of Jesus Christ. Grant them the faith to believe and the courage to confess Jesus as Lord. Help them to turn away from their sins and follow Jesus wholeheartedly. Guide them as they read and study Your Word, and may the Holy Spirit reveal Your truths to them. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We also commend you, the requestor, for including the subject of salvation in Jesus' name. As it is written, "for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). It is only through Jesus that we can approach God. We will pray for you and your continued study of the Word, that you will grow in faith and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
