We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken the first step by acknowledging the need for a Savior. The scripture you shared from Romans 10:9-10 is indeed a beautiful truth from God's word, let us read it again, If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed. This passage clearly outlines the path to salvation: believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, confessing this belief, and turning from your sins.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a heart full of gratitude for Your love and mercy. We pray for this individual seeking salvation. Open their heart to receive the good news of Jesus Christ. Help them to understand that salvation is found in no other name but Jesus. Help them to confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in their heart that God has raised Him from the dead and they will be saved.
Lord, we ask that You guide them as they read and study Your Word, especially the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Start them in the book of John to understand the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Help them to turn from their sins and follow Jesus wholeheartedly. Give them the strength to obey Your commands and live a life pleasing to You.
In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to dive deeply into the Gospels, starting with the book of John. As you read, ask God to reveal Himself to you and to give you understanding. Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved.
Turning from your sins is essential. This means taking inventory of anything that is not aligned with God's laws and turning from them. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 says, Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
You do not need to be held hostage by any past you have lived. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.
Be encouraged, and welcome to the family of God.
