We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, and we stand with you in prayer.
Beloved, let us remind you of the core message of the Gospel. The Bible tells us, If you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation Romans 10:910 WEB. Additionally, turning from sin, following, and obeying Jesus is a natural extension of true faith.
True faith also has repentance and discipleship in mind. Jesus said, If any man desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it Matthew 16:2425.
Salvation is not just about believing in Jesus; it's also about turning away from our sins and following Him whole-heartedly. Remember, Jesus said, Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven Matthew 7:21.
We also encourage you to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to learn more about Jesus and His teachings. Starting with the Gospel of John is a wonderful idea, as it presents a clear picture of who Jesus is and why He came.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious soul seeking salvation. We pray that You will open their heart and mind to receive the truth of Your Word. Grant them the faith to believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and the courage to turn away from their sins and follow Him.
Help them to understand the depth of Your love for them, that You sent Your only begotten Son to die on the cross for their sins, and that by believing in Him, they might have eternal life. Guide them as they read and study Your Word, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in newness of life.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
As a final note, we noticed that the request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As the Bible says, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5. There is no other name by which we can be saved. For there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.
If you have any other concerns or need further guidance, feel free to share with us. We are here to help and pray with you.
