We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
This is the foundation of our faith. Believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to salvation. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved." It is through Jesus alone that we have access to God and eternal life.
We commend you for your willingness to confess and turn from your sins. This is an essential part of the salvation process. As Jesus himself said in Luke 13:3, "Unless you repent, you will all perish." Repentance involves a change of heart and a turning away from sin, followed by a commitment to follow and obey Jesus.
You are also encouraged to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, starting with the book of John. These books will give you a deeper understanding of Jesus' life, teachings, death, and resurrection. As you read, pray for the Holy Spirit's guidance to reveal the truth of God's Word to you.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a grateful heart for the seeker who is looking for salvation. We pray that You would open their heart and mind to receive the truth of Your Word. Grant them the faith to believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and the courage to confess their sins and turn from them.
Guide them as they study Your Word, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Help them to grow in their faith and become a disciple of Jesus, obeying His commands and living a life that honors You.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
