We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ and confessing Him as Lord. It is wonderful that you have included this in your request, as it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God's salvation. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
We encourage you to continue in your faith journey by reading and studying the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Starting with the Book of John is a excellent idea, as it beautifully presents the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Remember, faith is not just about belief; it is also about turning away from sin and following Jesus wholeheartedly.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a heart full of gratitude for the seeker who is looking for salvation. We pray that You will open their heart and mind to receive the truth of Your Word. Help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Guide them as they read and study the Gospels, and grant them the wisdom and understanding to apply Your teachings to their life.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you journey through the scriptures please read 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." and 2 Timothy 2:15 "Be diligent to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn't need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth."
