We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 tells us: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is through His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection that we are saved from our sins and reconciled to God. We must not only believe but also confess our sins and turn away from them. This is what true repentance means—a change of heart and mind that leads to a change in behavior. Remember Acts 3:19 "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."
As you embark on this journey, we encourage you to immerse yourself in the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These books will give you a deeper understanding of Jesus' life, teachings, and ministry. Starting with the Book of John is a wonderful idea, as it beautifully portrays Jesus as the Son of God and the Savior of the world. John 20:31 says, "but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray for this individual seeking Your face and Your truth. Open their heart and mind to receive the good news of the Gospel. Help them to believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, to confess their sins, and to turn away from them. Guide them as they read and study Your Word, especially the Gospels. Give them the strength and courage to follow and obey Jesus in all areas of their life.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you grow in your faith, remember that salvation is not just a one-time event but a lifelong journey of discipleship. Continue to read and study the Bible, pray, and seek fellowship with other believers. This is crucial for your spiritual growth and to live a life that honors God. We are here to support and pray for you every step of the way.
