We rejoice with you as you seek salvation, for it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 tells us: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is through faith in Him that we are saved, not by our own works or goodness. As Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."
We encourage you to continue reading and studying the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—to learn more about Jesus' life, teachings, death, and resurrection. Starting with the book of John is a wonderful idea, as it clearly presents Jesus as the Son of God and the path to eternal life.
Remember, believing in Jesus also means turning away from our sins and following Him. As Acts 3:19 says, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."
Let us pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You with a humble heart, confessing that we are sinners in need of Your forgiveness. We believe that You are the Son of God, that You died on the cross for our sins, and that God raised You from the dead. We confess You as our Lord and Savior. Help us to turn away from our sins and to follow You all the days of our lives. Thank You for the gift of salvation and eternal life. In Your precious name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
