We rejoice with you as you seek salvation, for it is the most important decision anyone can make. Let us guide you through the scriptures and prayer, for it is only in the name of Jesus Christ, that we can be saved.
First, let us clarify the path to salvation. Romans 10:9-10 (WEB) says, If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. Also, turning from your sins is a natural and expected result of believing in Jesus.
Next, Acts 4:12 (WEB) tells us, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. This reminds us that it is only through Jesus Christ that we find salvation. Believing in Jesus Christ means personally receiving him into our lives as Lord and Savior, confessing him publicly, and following him in obedience.
If you are ready and have not done so, please freely speak to God by praying this prayer, I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord. I believe in my heart that God raised him from the dead. I confess my sins and need for Jesus to forgive me and I choose to turn away from my sins. I dedicate my life to obeying and following Jesus Christ. Help me to live for Jesus every day. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus name we pray.
Next, Mark 1:15 (WEB) says, The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News. This verse emphasizes the importance of repentance, which means turning away from our sins and turning to God. Repentance goes hand in hand with believing in the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Now, let us pray for you. Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up everyone seeking salvation. We pray that they will confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that you raised him from the dead. We ask that you will guide them as they turn from their sins and choose to obey Jesus. We pray they will be gifted with the Holy Spirit to help them with their new life. Help them to live according to your will and grow in their faith. We ask this in Jesus name.
We also encourage you to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to learn more about Jesus and his teachings. Start with the book of John, it is a great starting place.
Lastly, consider finding a local Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith alongside other believers. You do not need to share this decision with anyone that might discourage your new faith. It is good to be around other believers and learn from others. God bless you on your journey of faith.
