We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As it is written in Romans 10:9-10, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
First, we want to commend you for including Jesus in your request. This step is vital as it is only through Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
Salvation involves not only a confession of faith but also a turning away from sin. As it is written in Acts 3:19: "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord." This means we must acknowledge our sins, feel genuine remorse, and make a conscious effort to turn away from them.
To grow in your newfound faith, we encourage you to read and study the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These books tell the story of Jesus' life, ministry, death, and resurrection. Starting with the Book of John is a wonderful idea, as it presents a clear and powerful picture of who Jesus is and why He came.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a heart full of gratitude for the seeker who desires to know You and be saved. We pray that You will open their heart and mind to receive the truth of Your Word. Grant them the courage to confess Jesus as Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Help them to turn away from their sins and follow Jesus wholeheartedly.
Guide them as they read and study Your Word, especially the Gospels. Reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way, and may they experience the transforming power of Your love.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you embark on this journey, remember that you are not alone. We are here to support and pray for you. Keep seeking God with all your heart, and He will draw near to you. As it is written in James 4:8: "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
May God bless you richly as you walk in His path.
