We are so glad to hear that you are seeking salvation. You have taken the first important step by looking to the Word of God for answers. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 clearly outlines the path to salvation: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is through faith in Him that we are saved, not by our own works or goodness. As it is written in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."
We commend you for your desire to confess and turn from your sins, to follow and obey Jesus. This is the essence of repentance, which is a crucial part of the salvation experience. As Jesus Himself said, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17).
Your commitment to read and study the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—is wonderful. We encourage you to start with the Gospel of John, as it beautifully presents the life, ministry, and teachings of Jesus. As you read, pray that the Holy Spirit will open your heart and mind to understand and apply God's Word to your life.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a humble heart, thanking You for drawing this person to Yourself. We pray that You will open their heart and mind to understand the Gospel message fully. Grant them the faith to believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and the courage to confess their sins and turn from them.
Guide them as they read and study Your Word. May the Holy Spirit teach them and bring them into a deeper relationship with You. Help them to grow in their faith and become a disciple of Jesus, obeying His commands and following His example.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
