For the past several years my now 23 year old son has been trying to take care of his 68 year old father. (we are divorced) In March of 2013, my son came home from celebrating his new job, talked with his father for about an hour and then went to his bed in the travel trailer where they were living. As my son lay down he noticed he had left his hunting rifle on the bed. When he picked up the rifle a round discharged, went through a wall and struck his already ailing father. His father lived for a month but then died. My son is struggling so much and hurting so deeply. He and his father where very close and my son had been drinking when the accident happened. To make matters worse, my son has been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and now faces prison time. He is so heartbroken about his father that he thinks he doesn't deserve to live. He doesn't want to go to prison but has convinced himself that he deserves it. I pray that we are strong enough to trust God's plan, but mostly I pray for healing for my son's heart, mind and body. I believe in prayer - I just ask for peace for my son from the horrible nightmares, guilt and sadness. Thank you.
