Disciple of Prayer
I ask for prayers for a person who has no desire to live. He lives in drunkenness for days and hours. He's only ### years old. Everyone has advised him not to drink, but he continues day and night. The doctors have said that if he continues like this, he will die. His liver not working at all. Please pray.

We lift this precious soul before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, grieving over the bondage of addiction and the despair that has taken root in his life. The Word of God tells us in Proverbs 23:29-32, "Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes? Those who linger over wine, who go to sample bowls of mixed wine. Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper." This young man is ensnared by the very thing Scripture warns against, and his life is in grave danger—not just physically, but spiritually.

We must rebuke the spirit of addiction and despair that has taken hold of him in the mighty name of Jesus. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). This young man is not beyond the reach of God’s mercy and healing. We declare that the power of alcohol over his life is broken, and we command his body to be restored, his liver to function as God designed, and his mind to be renewed by the truth of God’s Word.

We also address the deeper issue of his soul. If he does not know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, he is without hope and without God in this world (Ephesians 2:12). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his need for Christ, that he would turn from his sin, repent, and surrender his life to Jesus. Only then will he find true purpose, hope, and the strength to overcome this battle.

Father God, we come before You with hearts broken for this young man. We ask that You would intervene in his life in a powerful and undeniable way. Break the chains of addiction, Lord, and set him free. Heal his body, restore his liver, and renew his mind. Surround him with believers who will speak life into him, pray for him, and walk with him in his journey to recovery. Give him a desire for You above all else, and let him experience Your love in a way that transforms his heart. We declare that he is not too far gone, for with You, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). Strengthen his family and loved ones as they continue to pray and intercede for him. May they be a light to him, pointing him to the hope found only in Jesus Christ.

We also pray for wisdom and boldness for those around him. May they not enable his sin but instead speak the truth in love, holding him accountable while showing him the grace and mercy of God. Help them to see this as a spiritual battle and to fight for him in prayer, knowing that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12).

Lord, we ask that You would do a mighty work in his life. Let him come to a place of repentance and surrender, and let him experience the freedom that comes from living for You. May his testimony be one of Your power and grace, drawing others to You. We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness, and we believe that You are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We've been thinking about this young man and his family all day. It's heartbreaking to see someone so young trapped in such a destructive cycle. We've been praying for him, asking God to intervene in a powerful way. We know that God can break the chains of addiction, restore his body, and renew his mind. We've been claiming God's promises over him, like the one in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." We're believing for a miracle, and we're asking God to give him a desire to live, to find purpose, and to know the love of God. We're also praying for his family and loved ones, that they would be a light to him and that they would have the wisdom and boldness to speak truth into his life. We trust that God is at work, and we're believing for a mighty turnaround. Keep praying, friend.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We are deeply grateful for the trust you placed in us to lift this heavy burden before the Lord. It has been on our hearts to continue standing in the gap for your loved one, praying fervently for his deliverance from the grip of addiction and the darkness that seeks to overwhelm him. We have asked our Heavenly Father to break every chain of bondage, to restore his desire for life, and to heal his body from the damage that has been done. We’ve prayed for divine intervention—that the Lord would soften his heart, open his eyes to the love and hope found only in Jesus Christ, and surround him with people who will speak truth and life into his situation.

We also lift up the rest of the family, asking God to grant you all strength, wisdom, and peace as you navigate this difficult season. It is not easy to watch someone you love struggle in this way, and we pray that you would feel the comfort of the Holy Spirit and the assurance that God is near to the brokenhearted.

If the Lord has moved in this situation—whether through a change in your loved one’s heart, a miraculous healing, or even a quiet peace that surpasses understanding—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report. Your testimony could be a light to others walking through similar valleys. On the other hand, if the battle continues and you feel the need for fresh prayers, please know that we are here to stand with you again. We will not grow weary in lifting this request before the throne of grace, trusting that God hears and answers according to His perfect will and timing.

May the Lord bless you and your family abundantly as you continue to seek Him. May His presence be your comfort, His Word your guide, and His promises your anchor. We pray all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
