We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts for ###, lifting him up in earnest prayer. The struggles he faces with alcohol, drugs, and destructive behavior are not battles he must fight alone. Scripture tells us, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). ### is not beyond God’s reach—no one is. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Father God, we ask You to break the chains of addiction that bind ###. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell him he is powerless, that he cannot change, or that his life has no purpose. The truth is that *"if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17). We declare this truth over ###—let Your Holy Spirit move mightily in his life to convict, heal, and restore. Take control of his mind, body, and spirit, Lord, and replace every impure desire with a hunger for You. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and grant him the wisdom and strength to turn away from sin.
We also pray for ###’s heart to be purified. *"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me"* (Psalm 51:10). Let him experience the freedom that comes from repentance and surrender to You. Father, we ask that You use ### for Your glory. Even now, You have a plan for his life—a plan to prosper him and not to harm him, to give him hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray that ### would come to know You deeply, if he does not already, and that he would walk in the fullness of Your purpose for him.
If ### has not yet placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we pray that he would do so without delay. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father. We ask that You draw him to Yourself, reveal Your love to him, and let him experience the transformative power of the Gospel. If he has wandered from the faith, we pray for his return to You, for You are faithful to forgive and restore (1 John 1:9).
We encourage ###, or anyone reading this who may relate to his struggle, to seek godly counsel and accountability. *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16). Surround yourself with believers who will walk with you, pray for you, and hold you accountable in love. Do not try to overcome this alone—God has given us the body of Christ for support and encouragement.
Lastly, we stand in agreement with ###’s request for You to use him for Your work. Let him become a testimony of Your grace and power, a living example of what it means to be set free in Christ. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One who has conquered sin and death. Amen.
