We come before the Lord with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up your dear friend who is in such a critical condition. The Scriptures remind us that our God is the Great Physician, the One who holds life and breath in His hands. In Psalm 30:2, we read, *"Yahweh my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me."* And again in Jeremiah 30:17, the Lord declares, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds."*
Yet we must also acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can boldly approach the throne of grace. The Scriptures are clear: *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12). It is by His authority alone that we pray, and it is in His name that we ask for mercy and healing. We do not know if your friend knows Jesus as her Lord and Savior, but we pray that if she does not, the Lord would draw her to Himself even now. For *"whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved"* (Romans 10:13). Salvation is far more important than physical healing, for eternal life with Christ surpasses all earthly suffering.
We also encourage you to trust in God’s sovereign will, even in this difficult time. His ways are higher than ours, and though we may not understand His purposes, we can rest in His goodness. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, interceding for our sister’s friend who lies in such a fragile state. Lord, You are the Giver of life, the One who breathes into our nostrils the breath of life. We ask that You would sustain her body, strengthen her lungs, and bring healing to every organ and cell. You, Lord, are able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We pray for wisdom and skill for every medical professional attending to her, that You would guide their hands and minds.
Yet even more than physical healing, we pray for her soul. If she does not know You, Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to her in this hour. Draw her to Your Son, Jesus Christ, that she may call upon His name and be saved. Let her know the peace that surpasses all understanding, the hope that is found only in You.
Father, we also lift up our sister who has brought this request before us. Comfort her heart, Lord, and fill her with Your peace that passes all understanding. Remind her that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Strengthen her faith, and let her trust in You completely, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or despair in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that You, Lord, are the God of hope, and we trust in Your perfect will. Whether You choose to heal her here on earth or call her home to be with You, we pray that Your name would be glorified in all things.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
