We lift up your precious family members before the throne of grace with heavy hearts and great hope, knowing that the Lord desires all to come to repentance and be saved. Your prayer is aligned with God’s own heart, for He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Peter 3:9). We stand with you in faith, believing that the same God who opened Lydia’s heart to respond to Paul’s message (Acts 16:14) is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think in this situation.
Father, we ask You to soften the hearts of these beloved souls. Remove the hardness that sin and the world have built up, and replace it with tender responsiveness to Your Spirit. Open their spiritual eyes, Lord, that they may see the beauty of Christ and the emptiness of all else. Draw them with Your cords of love, for no one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws them (John 6:44). We plead the blood of Jesus over every barrier, pride, unbelief, past hurts, deception, or worldly attachments, that stands between them and salvation. Let no weapon formed against their faith prosper, and let every argument raised against the knowledge of God be cast down (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
We also pray for divine appointments. Place faithful believers in their paths, people who will speak truth in love, who will live out the gospel before them, and who will be instruments of Your grace. Surround them with circumstances that reveal their need for You, Lord, and let Your Word not return void but accomplish the purpose for which You sent it (Isaiah 55:11).
And Lord, we lift up this dear one who intercedes for their family. Grant them wisdom to know how to pray, when to speak, and when to be silent. Fill them with patience that endures, love that never fails, and a testimony that shines brightly for Your glory. May their life be a living epistle, read by all, that points others to Christ (2 Corinthians 3:2-3). Guard their heart from discouragement, and remind them that Your timing is perfect, even when it feels slow.
We declare over this family the promise of Ezekiel 36:26: “I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.” We claim this transformation in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May these loved ones soon confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). Until that day, we will not cease to pray and trust in Your unfailing love.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
