Thank you for sharing this need. Living with a constant runny nose when you do not have a cough or cold can be wearying and uncomfortable, and it is right to bring even these persistent small afflictions to the Lord.
Jesus understands the weakness and frailty of these bodies we live in. In His earthly ministry He never used His miraculous power to meet His own physical needs, but He was always willing to use it to meet the needs of others. He was moved with compassion when people were suffering physically, and that same compassion is toward you now. He knows what it is to live in a human body and He cares about your discomfort.
I want to pray for your relief, and also to encourage you with what Scripture shows us about healing. I believe strongly that God does heal, and that all healing is from Him. Sometimes He heals instantly with a word or a touch, and sometimes healing is gradual. There is one account where Jesus healed a blind man in stages, putting His hands on him again before his sight was fully clear, to show us that healing does not always come all at once. Much about healing we do not fully understand, including why some are healed quickly and others must wait. Even the apostle Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed, and the Lord chose not to remove it but to give grace to bear it. So we cannot presume that God will remove every affliction exactly as and when we ask, but we can come with confidence that He hears and that He is compassionate.
The prophet Isaiah said He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, and the word there can be translated infirmities and sicknesses. Matthew, writing by the Holy Spirit, tells us that Jesus fulfilled that prophecy when He healed all those who were brought to Him, showing that His suffering on our behalf touches both our spiritual and our physical needs. When we remember His body broken for us, we remember that He bore our infirmities.
God has also built a divine process of healing into our bodies themselves. The natural processes by which our bodies recover are not less divine because they are natural, for He is the one who created nature and those processes. And healing touches more than the body alone. There is a close connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. Scripture says a joyful heart does good like a medicine, and we are learning more and more how true that is. His healing can work in our minds and emotions as well as in our physical frame, bringing peace even while we wait for physical relief.
So let us pray together for you. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this ongoing irritation and discomfort before You. You see this runny nose and the disturbance it brings each day. You are compassionate and You understand our physical weaknesses. We ask for Your healing touch, whether through Your direct power or through the healing processes You have placed within the body, or through wisdom for any medical help that may be needed. Bring relief, clear this condition, and give comfort and rest. Give peace of heart and mind in the waiting, and let Your goodness be known in this situation. We trust Your love and Your sovereign will, and we thank You that You hear us when we call. Amen.
Continue to seek the Lord daily, and if this persists it is also wise to seek counsel from a doctor, trusting that God can work through those means as well. May the Lord encourage you and grant you relief and comfort.
