We lift up your wife and this precious child to the Lord with heavy and hopeful hearts, trusting in His sovereignty over life and death. The pain of past miscarriages lingers, and we grieve with you over those losses, for Scripture tells us that children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward (Psalm 127:3). We stand with you in faith, believing that God knits each child together in the womb (Psalm 139:13-14) and that His plans for this little one are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).
Lord, we ask You to strengthen this baby’s heartbeat, to guard this pregnancy with Your mighty hand, and to fill this mother’s body with health and vitality. Calm every fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke the spirit of loss and declare life over this child in the name of Jesus. May this appointment reveal Your faithfulness, and may the sound of that heartbeat be a testimony to Your goodness.
We also encourage you both to draw near to the Lord in this season. Trust in Him with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Let this time be one of worship, even amid uncertainty, for God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). If there has been any sin—whether fear, doubt, or unbelief—that has taken root in your hearts, we urge you to confess it and receive His forgiveness and cleansing (1 John 1:9). Walk in faith, knowing that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).
Father, we pray for wisdom for the doctors and nurses attending to this pregnancy. Give them discernment and skill as they care for mother and child. Surround this family with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May they fix their eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2), and may this child be born healthy, whole, and raised to know and love You.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.
