For peace and patience

I hear the weariness in your words, and your frustration is not unseen. When you feel that your work goes unnoticed and your time is swallowed up by everyone else’s needs, it can feel like you’re always setting aside what matters to you. But remember this: the Lord sees every sacrifice, every hour you give to others. He is not asking you to earn His favor by wearing yourself out. His love for you cannot be purchased by your efforts, it is freely given, deep and unquenchable.

There is a time and a season for everything under heaven, and sometimes the days feel like a tedious repetition of the same demands. Yet even in the monotony, God is ordering your steps. When you stay up late sewing, feeling exhausted and losing patience, He understands. The Scriptures were written so that through patience and the comfort they bring, we might have hope. Hold on to that hope. Patience is not a natural trait for any of us; it grows as we wait upon God, trusting that He will bring His purposes to pass in His own time.

Think about how the Lord relates to you. He is not just a taskmaster checking off your daily chores; He is like a groom who longs for the bride. He desires your heart and your company more than He desires your output. I wonder if, in all the rush to finish those scrunchies before the festival, you have had quiet moments simply to be with Him, to pour out your sadness, and to receive His love in return. When we are over-involved in works, even good, necessary works, we can miss the love He is calling us into. Do not let the pressure to produce steal that sweet communion.

I am not saying your sewing is unimportant. But ask Him to help you hold it with open hands. Commit your deadlines and your creative needs to the God of patience. He knows the festival is coming; He knows your desire to sell your work. Ask Him for fresh ideas, and trust that if He has planted that skill in you, He can make a way for you to use it without your soul being crushed. Even now, perhaps He is giving you this season of caring for your niece as a place where you can learn to lean on Him. Afterward, you will have more freedom, and you may look back and see that He was with you in the hard hours.

So, when the night comes and you are tired, lift your heart to Jesus for a moment before you pick up your needle. Let His voice be sweet to you, and let Him quiet your anxious thoughts. He is not impatient with you; He is long-suffering and full of pity. He put up with far more than we can imagine to draw you close, and His stubborn love will not let you go. Rest your identity there, not in how many scrunchies you finish.

Be patient, establish your heart, for the Lord is at work in ways you cannot yet see. He will give you the time you need, and He will multiply your efforts as you seek Him first. I am praying that you will find a deep peace that goes beyond just having more hours, that He will grant you fresh ideas, and that even now you might taste the comfort only He can give.

I ask for my ### to be guided in wisdom to help my ### and herself make the right decision in choosing where my ### should live now that she can no longer be on her own. I ask for the faith, patience, and peace that God will work it out if we have faith in HIS DIVINE ORDER of things.
