Dear saints, kindly pray that my office colleague and myself should remain in this same division. I am taking retirement in few months. Please pray that he should remain in this same division in the name of Lord Jesus

We hear your request and lift it before the Lord with sincerity. It is good to seek God’s will in matters of work and transitions, trusting Him to guide both you and your colleague in the days ahead. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 16:9, "A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps." We can make our plans, but ultimately, it is God who orders our steps according to His purpose.
Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to You and through whom we are saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that You would grant favor and wisdom to this dear brother as he approaches retirement. Lord, we pray that You would work in the hearts of those making decisions about his colleague’s placement in the division. If it is Your will, we ask that this colleague would remain where he is, bringing stability and continuity to the work being done. However, Lord, we also surrender this request to Your perfect plan, trusting that You know what is best for both of them.
We pray for peace and contentment in this season of transition. May this brother finish his time in the workplace with integrity, wisdom, and grace, reflecting Your love to those around him. Help him to trust in Your provision, knowing that You hold his future in Your hands (Jeremiah 29:11). We also pray for his colleague, that You would strengthen him in his role and give him clarity and purpose in his work.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of anxiety or fear that may be trying to take root in this situation. We declare that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We trust in Your sovereignty and ask that You would align all things according to Your perfect will.

It is well that you bring this office matter before the Lord, for nothing is too small for His notice. Yet let us remember what, or rather Whom, the Holy Spirit ever sets before us. He takes of the things of Christ and shows them unto us. His chief office is to glorify the Lord Jesus, and whatever we ask in prayer must have this for its aim. Does your desire that your colleague remain in your division serve to magnify Christ? Then you may plead it with boldness. But if it is merely for mutual comfort as you near your retirement, take heed that the greater comfort of Christ's presence be not overlooked. Perfect stability belongs alone to God; the arrangements of an earthly office are ever shifting. Pray that whether he stays or is moved, you both may stand firm in the faith, fixed upon the unchanging One.
Do not be surprised if even among colleagues there is division because of Him. Where Christ is faithfully confessed, some will embrace and others will oppose. But the unity which faith brings far surpasses any temporal nearness. Your remaining months are not merely to finish a career, but to spread the savor of integrity in that place. Serve your Lord there as Mary did, with a devotion that does not wait for the approval of others. Perform your duty with such honesty that the name of Jesus is honored, and leave the placement of men to Him who orders all things. You ask for prayer that your colleague remain in the same division as you enter retirement. But consider the nature of this request. Is not the heart's true rest found in the will of God, not in the constancy of earthly arrangements? The desire to cling to a known companion at work, while understandable, risks masking a deeper attachment. Pray instead that you both would serve the Lord Christ, and not your own belly, seeking comfort in human presence rather than in Him. For if your contentment hinges on this colleague staying near, you have already consented to a division in your own soul, setting up an idol in the sanctuary of your heart.
Do not mistake my meaning. There is a good disagreement and an evil concord. Those who built the tower agreed together for their own hurt, and Corah's company agreed for evil, so division came for their good. If God in His wisdom permits this colleague to be moved, it may be exactly the remedy your soul requires, a severing of what binds you too closely to the world as you prepare for your latter season. Retirement itself is a form of holy withdrawal, a time to learn what the Lord taught when He went up into the mountain apart to pray. Loneliness and retirement are good when we commit ourselves to God. Do not fear the loss of this fellowship at the office; fear rather the loss of your capacity to be alone with Him who will never leave.
Therefore, let your prayer be redirected. Ask God not simply to keep this man in your division, but to establish both of your hearts in whatever station He ordains, that you may finish your course with a pure devotion. Seek holy men in the desert of your own quiet hours, and make your soul a harbor free from the turmoils of grasping for familiar faces. The division that matters is not the mere reshuffling of an office, but the cleavage of the soul from its true rest. Let the God of peace bruise the temptation to anxiety under your feet shortly, and grant you to desire His will above all earthly stability.
